Whats the best way to seal the holes for the fuel line, elect. and shift cables if not using the outboard hose method? One person said to use grommets but there has got to be a cooler way; what does Merc use? Guess I should have paid more attention at Balzy's last December. I like the hoses but can't use them on the STV because I have a sun deck pad. Help me; time is running out!!!!!!!!!!

What's wrong with the rubber boots Merc uses in the high perf cowls?

I know, people are reading this and saying this guy doesn't have a clue; I just haven't been around hipo motors enough to know what they use. That is probably just what I'm looking for. Any pic's?
Thanks

I didn't mean to imply that I thought you don't have a clue. I just figured you don't like those boots for some reason. They do tear fairly easily, especially with age. I don't have pics, but maybe somebody else has one handy. I don't think they're expensive, which is hard to believe for a Merc part.

I'm the one without a clue!
Where do the cables and hoses run loose that a vacuum hose can't run?

Do the non alien style cowls use a different style boot? I can't believe Merc gets over a grand for the bottom pan; ouch!!!!!!!
Thanks for the help
I ran a serial number (0g205082) from an earlier Promax and got the same part number (25-8177133).
"25-8177133"
Is this indeed the part number for the cable grommet that fits the oval holes on a pre-alien mid-90's lightweight hi-performance cowl?

Can anybody get me a good deal on a pair of these?
