I have a 200 carb motor. It has had some modifications, namely high compression and flywheel. At WOT the motor turns about 7,300 RPM. What is a safe fuel/oil mix that will protect the motor but not reduce performance? Thanks.

I run 32 - 1 on my carb motors. 10 oz to 5 gallons. A little more every now and then. On the last rebuild, everything was well lubricated.

20 oz to 5 gallons. 10 oz to 5 gallons is 64 to 1 !!!!!!!! It's easy to remember if you use 1 quart to 8 gallons as a rule of thumb.

Also I agree with the 32 to 1 ratio for your motor. I ran synthetic last year at 40 to 1 and you can shave with my old rings after 1 season. It's back to 32 to 1 for me.....

I do like Techno does also. I hane 1/2 gallon and 1 gallon oil jugs marked at 1 gallon intervals. I use the quart containers when I have to fill up on the water......

Balzy,

What a brain fart! You are correct. I have been using a new measuring contianer and it is 20 oz verses the old one that was 10 oz. I have to mix mine by the 5 gallon container as I only run one tank on my boat with 2 - 2.5's. It is easier to carry the 5 gallon jugs. Thanks for catching this.

For me it's easier to figure 4oz/gallon. And even easier to skip the ounces all together and mark on the container gallons. Then you don't have any math or addition to do.
At 4oz. put a 1 at 8oz. put a 2...at 20oz. put a 5.
