I was wondering if anyone knows the font name, that some people use for the word racing on some motorsports decals. I remember Greg used it on some graphics a while back. You can see it on this page on the top banner.

I was making a few avatars for our site and can seem to find it anywhere. :(

Hey Chris, I was wondering if you (or Greg) or in this case anyone else has a list of links for all sorts of fonts like this. Thanks

PS, what program do you use to edit this font, and come up with the interesting font colours/shadows. Thanks

That font is called a bunch of different names depending on what site you're on.

I think the version I have is called sofachrome.

You can try the page linked below for the sofachrome font. I use Adobe Photoshop for editing the colors and style etc.

I ahve the trial of photoshop. I'm just experimenting with stuff now. What I was wondering was how you got like a flag as the background on text. That is pretty cool. Thanks for helping out a Photoshop newbie.

Re: Follow up

Never mind, fooling around is always the way to find out;)

When you say a flag background, do you mean you want to overlay a flag over the font?

If that's what you mean. You would create the font as one layer. Then create a new layer, which will consist of a picture of the flag you want to use. And then you basically overlay "that" picture of the flag over top of the existing font using the new layer you created. Photoshop is all about using layers, once you get that concept, it's pretty easy to experiment with.
