On a 1994 2.5 -Can I swap from an A-27 EFI box to a A-37. What is the differance? Is this safe? Does the timing need to be readjusted?
The problem that I'm having is when trying a 26 4-blade,at takeoff, the motor will bog then stall out. With a 3-blade its almost not noticeable. I popped the A-37 EFI box on, and now it comes out like a rocket with the same 4-blade. When running down the lake though, I didn't think the motor sounded right. It sounded like it was pinging at 20 MPH. So I didn't run it any farther or faster due to not wanting to blow anything up.I'm trying out different props to get one that can pull out a skier good and run 100+.
Thanks for any input! http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1479535&a=11142614&p=47303489&Sequence=0&res=high

If you don't have a way to check or change the settings,it is real easy to blow a motor. I saw that happen Friday by people who should know better and had a way to check it.

dont forget as well your 27 ecu uses a tpi setup and your 37 does not. make sure you dont run the tpi on the 37 box IT WILL AFFECT IT!

Yes, Thanks Mercman for the reply. I was told to unplug the TPI, because the A-37 TPI is internal. What I need to do next is dial in the A-37 with my motor. Any tips on that??

you really should have that ecu checked before you run it. anyone with a merc diagnostics terminal can do some checks on it to make sure it is set properly and working before you try it out , remember , the terminal does not tell all problems associated with the ecu so if it is running funny dont push it!
