Gary,
I thought you had forgotten about me, or just hated giving it up to another one of the black bastard crowd:rolleyes: . But there it was, a cardboard box on my front porch from you:eek: . It wasn't
ticking, but I still didn't take any chances. I took it to the airport and had it scanned before I opened it up.
Wow, there was my hard earned Rumble Drag King plaque:D!
Thanks man.
As you can see, Eric is STILL trying to take it away from me   ;) :D . He is one persistent SOB!
I'll take this time to thank you and Tony again for a large time last
year at the Rumble. It was, unfortunately, the only one I've been able to attend, but I had a ball:cool: .
I'll also let those of you who don't already know, that I've sold the Quarter Master, and am retiring from active racing. I will still be hanging out occaisionally on S&F, as this habit is hard to kick,
and you never know, I've quit this game before:confused: .........
Best Regards,
Steve Z

You would think by now he would be over it. LOL! You might need to keep a eye on the plaque while he is around. Are you guy's goint to try and make Euchee this year. I think we will have it around the first of June this time. Trying to miss the tornados.

Now that was funny!!
You're lucky you gave up on boat racing cause this year--------:D
Very, very sorry it took 6 months to get it to you.
We thought we had everyones done and sent several months ago and realized we had'nt sent yours or Trey's (tdogcarter?). (Trey is the one that jumped from his moving patrol boat into the driverless out of control Allison)
By the time we realized this I had changed computers and my new one did'nt have a copy of the certificate template.
My back up was on Donnas at her office. Problem there was that her company closed down her office and wiped out that computer!
Anyhow, I could never forget you my friend.
It was appropriate that the final run came down to to you and Eric.
The "teacher vs the student".
I had fun with it on the P.A. I only wish it would have reached more of the park.
Oh well, better late than never.
And for another miracle, Rodney your jet tool should hit your door today or tomorrow! Hated to give that thing up! You know those things are $85. new!!!

I hope a few other people on the board can take a cue from this good natured ribbing between you and me, and me and Eric.
I got into boating and racing to have fun with my friends who share a common interest.
I have nothing but respect for most of my former competitors, people like Eric and Marty come to mind. We made each other better. Competitiors need not, and shouldn't be enemies. They're
just rivals after a common goal, getting to the orange bouy 1st!
Just beause I'm done, doesn't mean the purple Qship is ;)..........
It just has new pilot :D . I hope he enjoys it as much as I did.
How's the Stream coming?
Best Regards,
Steve ;)
Damnit Eric! Let go of this plaque:D !

Very well said and in 100% agreement!
The Stream is coming along but is still only to about 80% of potential.
Still don't have more than 2 or 3hrs of test time on it but am very happy so far.
Proved my point (to myself) that it was possible take a fish motor and make it competetive with a black motor and more importanly, do it your self.
Turns 8K consisitently with all factory parts and there's still 500 - 1000 RPM left in it if I'm smart enough to get it out.
I still think the real reason you retired is that Tony told you that the FrankenRude was coming after you:eek:
You were scared:eek:
Sorry, could'nt help it;)
Thanks again for coming to the Rumble and shoing us "hobbyists" what a "real" drag boat can do.
Also was great having you offer to help behind the scenes. These events would not be possible w/o all the volunteers that give of them selves behind the scenes.
P.S., I know who has your old rig and I figure I have a pretty good chance against them until they figure out what all the buttons do and how to hold their butt cheeks tight enough once they do figure it out:D

Hey Gator,
You're still in Ohio, so let's get some test/tune time in this spring, Lord knows I need it and you say you do too:cool:
Oh oh oh oh oh...I want buttons too:D ;)

Shhhhhhh;)

You're on if I can pull off the time??
The Stream is going to Fla with us the first of April and is staying down there so I only have a couple weeks.
Was at Buckeye yesterday and it's thawed and waiting.
The ground out back finally hrneded up and I got the boat from the barn to the garage but have some chores to do.
Remember my crow bar/hammer modifications to my trim motor at last years Rumble?? It worked but leaked water into the motor.
It was locking up on me so I pulled it off the motor and tore it down.
Look what I found !

when I opened it up it dumped water all over my work bench!!
Everything was rusted!
I tore it apart, cleaned it up and put it back together and it works like freagin new!!
Anyhow, still have some more work to do for it to be ready to get wet or go south.
Also getting ready to port both Sonic blocks today and start reassembly on them too.
The Mirage is looking good there young man!

I hope that thick looking stuff is oil and not nud like it looks Gator. I remeber you hacking on that trim motor at the Rumble...see, you should just buy a Mercury:D
The Mirage is coming along nicely. Other than the paint/airbrush guy, we have to fix the side where the stupid fender broke and banged into the side of the hull during a storm on the way home.

Rodney,
Keep us posted on the Euchee dates. I may drag the new Nordic over. If we have another tornado, I'll be able to stay out and ride around in it this time :D !
Best Regards,
Steve

I don't blame you I would rather have been in that boat than in the trailer last year. I kept thinking about The Wizard of Oz.
