We took the 24 Liberator out for a 100 mile cruise on the St. Johns river yesterday. 86 degrees. We got into a HUGE fire in the middle of nowhere. It was about a mile long and burned right up to the river bank. It actually got very dark for a while due to the black smoke.

We made it up to Silver Glen Springs. The water comes from an underground cave and is 72 degrees all year.

On the way back, we did stop at a riverfront restaurant and had wings, gator bites, and beer.

This was a "little" gator. Only about 8ft and 200lbs.

Clear sunny day in the middle of nowhere. Someone had to of done it. As far as the gators go, they don't really bother you. I HOPE! About 15 years ago, when I was even dumber than I am now, we used to see who could swim the closest to the big ones while on blowup rafts. One day, I got about 75ft from a 11-12 footer when he turned and started swimming slowly towards me. He went under about 50ft from me. I pulled my arms and legs up and sat real still. I yelled for my wife to idle the boat over to get me. There was about 5 or 6 gators in that bay that day. I just happened to go for the biggest one. Too many beers I guess. I promised my wife I would'nt do that anymore. Sure was exhilerating at the time. I used to do alot of stupid stuff!
