Hottrucks

Ok I'm willing to go out on a limb here to find out if anyone has an interest in coming to a run up in NH its in my back yard. I can put something together on Lake Sunapee possablly for the midn summer of for a fall foliage season. I'm looking for interst ,Ideas and a little advise if this flys.

The area has good water and other lakes close by for speed runs if that becomes a Idea. They also have a few dealers around that might sponsor something or another ? There is a state launch at the state beach with plenty of parking. There are also plenty of places to stay either camping, hotel B&B,or cottage rentals and others I'm sure.

Hot boats are far and few between in this area and I'm sure that we would be the talk of the lake for a long time!!

Let me know what you think!!!!

Looks like we getting some interest. :D

I'm thinking the second weekend In July ?? The 9th 10th 11th???

I have found a cottage or two that may be open to rent on the water!!! for that weekend If this flys I will lock in a rate and find out about space in them we may be able to get Half a dozen in each place plus the hotel Best western (on rt 103 ) is within long walk (1/3 mile) and Restaurant next door there are also two places for adult beverages :D and food on the lake.

I hope the pieces come together and we can make a S&F weekend in New Hampshire.

Now we just need a cool  name for it!!!

Ill leave that up to you guys and we can put the good ones to a vote!!

I NEED A NAME!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like we go !!!

:D I"m On Board the Week end of the 9th,10th and 11th in July!! :D

Lets see if we can get this off the ground. I could use some Help on Ideas

I'll try to do some thing about some Radar Runs we do them for the snowmobles so I should be able to get that together for that week end run.

I"ll check on conferming a cottage and some hotel rooms maybe we can get a Group rate on them if we start early ;) I'll also check to see if the local restaraunts (spelling?) will do something for us.

Cottage on Hold
7 twin beds
2 double beds
1 pull out couch (double)

$650 per night total
If we can fill it $50 per person

If we can get a close count on people maybe we can do a chicken barbi & beer on the beach !!

Any help will be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stoker WTF is a Scamper in New Hampshire??? Did you ALWAYS have to win at scabble???

scam·per [ skámpər ] intransitive verb (past scam·pered, past participle scam·pered, present participle scam·per·ing, 3rd person present singular scam·pers) - run playfully: to run quickly or playfully

noun - playful run: a quick or playful run

[Late 17th century. Origin uncertain: probably from Middle Dutch schampen (see scamp1).]

scam·per·er noun

DAMN, I guess it fits:D Nut, your right, weird but catchy.

Just remember, if ya go, your a scamperer:eek:

You guys are making this to easy I'll do the best I can at this end please pm me so I can get an idea of how many wanna get rooms at a motel ?? Like I said I can get some rooms on the lake at some friends places (cottages) but it's only fair to them to get a little for us kicking them out!! They has room for two more couples in the up stairs of his cottage.

He just called me $ 85 per night per room ,two rooms @ Browns (next to state beach) He's a boat head too.
Owner Browns Auto & Marine (Merc Dealer with no state sales tax  ) X Baja Dealer

I can also rent the cottage next door !! (Parry's)
their's 5 rooms two can sleep couples and the other three have 2 singles and theres always couch space for two more. Same money but must fill it before I lock in !!!!!

That means deposits in hand!!!!

I'll keep my eyes open for some other places
and see about a place called Davis cabins??

Booze Cruz's available fancy big boat $$$ or I find a big pontoon boat we buy or bring our own adult beverages putt down the lake to have a couple more, dinner, listen to the band at the local watering hole and putt back

No permit needed unless you get a citation. They told me you could continue to use the boat through the weekend or until the test date. They all seemed pretty reasonable but it's hard to tell lake from lake. Would be nice to know how Sunapee is. I really want to go but it won't do me any good if I'm on the trailer Friday night for the rest of the weekend. There ain't much I can do about the noise either. There's really nothing they ( fish cops ) can do !!
If your here for any reason fishing, a show or vacation all they could do is write a ticket to be tested but cann't stop you from running for another 7 days.Trust me this is a law that I have tested over and over again with my 24' Chaparrel ,Inboard (454 with thru transom and no cross over) They went on a tare about two years ago but all the boats that had gott'n tickets passed so they layed back on it. But if your real loud or running at night you can expect some Bitches!! no matter where you are!

Wing nut I'm looking to fill a cabin if we can get some people together (see previous posts) I'll take it we'll end up sharing the place but it will be alot more reasonableand we still get our own rooms. Not only that It's next to the state beach we'll end up there anyway to hang by the fire and tell each other how wonderful we are (lol) It's next to Stews and he the fire guy!! as for the noise bring an extra drain plug (LOL)

PhastBoat
03-26-2004, 06:35 PM
Do you HAVE to be there for this "test". Alittle far to tow your boat back just to be tested.

Hottrucks
03-27-2004, 07:29 AM
My friend comes up from your way on vaca. He (fast Phil as we refer to him) never bothers to come back for the test he only makes it hear once a year with his boat and then the ticket expires. He keeps coming back every year and now they just give him the eye when he goes by (bye)
This Db law is F*@#D anyway I've been fighting it for 2 years but its a battle I've been fighting alone!! Knowone else either knows about how wrong it is and doesn't care enough to change it or just deals with it!!! They might get in trouble and somebody (fish cops) might give me a hard time.Rich little Babies got more money than balls!! and will just buy off the parts to get them under without fighting a Illegall Test!!

The test consists of
2 passes @ half throttle
2 passes @ WOT
with a officer on board (so you cann't cheat on throttle)
average 89 or under you pass 90 and over you come back (Fair)

sounds easy but the part I left out was

These passes are done @ 50' OFF THE BACK OF A FISH COP BOAT

Whats wrong with that pic.

If I blow over who's responcable for the dead fish cop???
and my boat??
and me??
and the fish cop boat I ran into trying to save it that was only 50' away???
But it's OK he waved the 50' rule??????
I asked him the last time to wave the speed limit for me on the way home because I was late for Dinner!!

The original ticket is even given because the officer thinks you maybe to loud??I offered to buy the state a few Db meters (available at Radio shack for under $50) just so the officers on larger lakes could stop wasteing the time of good (legal) boat owners that are legal.ME!!

Sorry!! it's a sore subject and this is not the forum for it!! But if you want to help It would be greatly appreicated(spelling)?

northeastcat
03-27-2004, 09:56 AM
Wingnut, call that number in my post for the lakeview lodge it seemed pretty resonable and if you want to add a person to a room it is only an additional 10 or 20 to the normal rate. Talk to Burt and book soon. If a couple people group up in a room or two it will real reasonable when the rate is split. He also said he gives 50 off to a three night stay, that would work if you want to leave on monday I guess.
I hope as long as we use some reasonable common sense we will have no problem with law. Stu said to me just not to boat before 7 am and be quite after dark , I think I can handle that. I dont have an offshore exhaust but I did open it to come out above the cav. plate.

You will be able to run, permit is on it's way!!
Unless your running an extreme bridgeport or some sort of straight open exhaust they won't look twice other than the fact that there's a new boat with a can of Wopp Ass running around the lake and with the rest of the group there all eyes will be BIG just at the sight of these boats there's nothing like us (Hmm! not sure wether thats good or bad (LOL)) I mean our style boats. I'm sure that we will be welcomed by most all people, "There's always a few that think that this kind of boating is evil" Heard that before somewhere??
If you have any questions  please feel free to PM me and I will either call you or give you my # and I'm sure will will feel better!! ;) about coming!!

Please bring the family if anyone else wants I will also bring my 24' chaparral ,tube and water toys for the kids to do a few hot laps and maybe some brave adults :D

Anyone interested in splitting the cabin with me and my girlfriend if the sell goes thru ? Its in a great spot , would like to get another couple in there if we need to. It will be $85 a night. I will know if his boat sells after this weekend. Anyone interested should let me know so if he doesnot go I can give you first refusal on the room.

Hello all, I'm a friend of Jeff's(hottrucks) just resgistered on the site. I wanna say ahead of time I can't wait to meet all that come to this great weekend he is planning. I posted another thread earlier, forgive me, I learning my way around the site, so I think it went into the general area instead of here. I also can offer my condo for a place to stay for folks. It's about 1/2 from Sunapee Harbor, and I can sleep 4 here. I'll be staying with a friend whose cottage is already being rented to a few of you, so you can have at it in my house. Let me know if you're interested, we can work out the details. Check my other post for more info, kinda combined it with a motor questions too, so if you can help out with some advice on that, i would greatly appreciate it.

As for a name for the event, as Jeff said NH motto is "Live Free or Die", also we are known as the Granite State, have the White Mountains, and the Lakes Region.....so with that said here's a couple of ideas. Feel free to pull out the theasaurus(sorry Jeff big words for you again bro) :D

I do think personally that a motto for the event internally could be "Live Free and Fly" Think someone said that already, but I liked it alot, :D

Granite State Romp
Jamboree at Sunapee

That's about all my brain can come with for the moment, :), think I need some of Jeff's zoloft now.

Jeff,
I just talked with Stu the other day again to make sure all is set and he sounds ready for some fun too. My buddie with the action is definatly comming , boat did not sell so he is doing some more mods to it. I'm busting my rump every night trying to get the Alleycat ready, just to go out on the water would be nice at this point. But if nothing else I will be ready for the N.H. meet.
How is the new 2.5 running ???? Any numbers yet ???

Anyone have a radar gun ? My boat will supply a stable platform from which we can do "Top Gun" runs, howz about photography ?
Thongs are permitted on Sunapee (for women only please, men must wear thongs on their heads) Please remember also, any marriages performed by captains on board are valid for the duration of the boat ride only. No exceptions.

Hello everyone, just wanted to follow up on my last post, haven't heard any replies yet. My name is Scott, a friend of Jeff's, and Stu's(my psedo Father, lol) I wanted to let you all know that I have a condo about 1/2 mile from Sunapee Harbor where some of you will be launching your boats I expect. I wanted to let you guys know that it is available for your use if you need it. I can sleep up to 4 without putting anyone on the floor. If you're interested in using this for the weekend your here please let me know. Can't wait to get together and run with you guys. I won't be able to keep up in my 98' 20' Baja Outlaw, but it'll be fun watching the rest of you scream right by me. Please PM me if your interested in using my condo guys, and it will be cheaper than the hotels in the area, :) Thanks and look forward to the fun.

I'm gonna frown on any radar or gps's!! We all know fast is fast and we all want a little more. This is a Hangout Event not a race or top speed event. I luv to see people give it there all but No Show Offs PLEASE!! I would like to keep this event SAFE and have more antisipation for next years event with more people and maybe a band !!! There is NO SPEED LIMIT but we all know the the Safe speed of our boats for the given conditions the last thing we (fellow S&F ers) want is to be fishing someone out of the drink with a broken anything or worse!!

PLEASE KEEP THIS AND ALL EVENTS SAFE !!!! :D
Enjoy the summer

Thanx
JEFF
P.S. Unless we get Greg to come this far north if someone could take some pics that would be great!!! luv to see them on the post!! THATS A SUTTLE INVITE GREG !!!!!(it does get warm up here)

On another note PERMIT is in the bag talked to the Fish Cop and he said that as soon as it reaches his desk he'll sign and get back to me :D :D

Hey, no sweat the gun stays home , as far as the GPS it is my speedo. I'm just used to the lakes around here where there is always a spot well away from homes and people to run em fast.
Hope the turn out is big this should be a great time.:D

I'm not worried about homes or other people I just want everybody to run Fast and have a little fun thats all the turn out is not about me it's about You the people that come that will make the gathering fun, the last thing we all want is to have anyone get hurt it's bad enough when we blow SH*T up

LETS ALL HAVE A SAFE SUMMER :D
No matter where we are!!!

On a side note the Talon is coming into it but still needs a bunch of tweaking to get her to run the best she can ;) . I'm on a great learning curve on how to drive her but we are learning together pretty well hope to get it together with lots of seat time before the gathering!!! :)

I'll post a pic or two of me keeping the water fluffy on Sunappee before you get here soon!!

Just an FYI guys, this section of the Lake I took Jeff's picture on is right in front of Stew's cottage, and only a small portion of the Lake. Lake Sunapee is about 13 miles long and 2 miles wide at it's widest point(we call that section the big lake, original, huh?) where Jeff is in this picture, the Lake is prolly just shy of 1 mile wide. Plenty of room for all you guys when you get up here. :D Hope this picture teases you all a little and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :p

Remember this!!!!!!!

Ok when and if this year I was thinking later in the summer or between Ct river run and Labor day?? Any interst in doing it better!!
