Hi all,

Just arrived for an evaluation is this new Livorsi GPS 120mph telltale speedometer. Initial inspection reveals it to be a very high quality unit, and installation couldn't be easier. The Telltale feature will also come in handy!

I'll have a full install feature coming soon!

actually wife paid for it and the install by Bill Gohr.
she wants to know how fast were going all the time ....once we get past 90 I think she counts to 3 then gives me the slodown sign...

Oh well so much for the days when she wouldn't tell me to slodown til we got past 9000 rpm's.

By the way...Love the unit have had it in the boat for one full year and no problems(but when I forget the handheld to plug to it:) )

It's a great unit, but my question is, why'd you get the wimpy one that only reads 120???????? Here's the speedo for a REAL boat:

How much does this unit go for ? What it the diameter of the gauge ?

That is great news. I have been looking for something JUST like that for my new River Rocket.

Greg, does this unit also measure amps or volts?

Raceman, who the hell looks at (or can see) the speedo at 180mph? At that speed, I would think that the "pucker factor" would be sucking you to the seat. LOL

Wayne, the nice part about it is the recall switch. I don't watch em ever when I'm ridin' in the boat for fear of runnin' over a jet ski.

I think I just broke a rib laughing!

Those PWC's come up QUICK when you have it hung out and runnin' fast.

RM - Ya mean that pontoon boat goes that fast

How about just over 120 though ???

I've been knocking on that door and I think it's a psychological thing;)

I got one in my Drag. Only problem is I think the antenna isn't any good. I read the paperwork on it and the diagnostics that it goes thru singles out the antenna as the culprit. Mickey cut down the harness cause it was kinda long and he said it hasn't worked since. I even tried rewiring it and it still doesn't work. I guess I'll send it out sooner or later. It does match all the other gauges in the boat very nicely! Enjoy it Greg. See Ya, Jay.

Mine works really well. The only thing I don't like about it is that it came from Mike before the name change, so it says Gaffrig. I wish it said Livorsi. I'll probably change it out sooner or later because Mike's always been such a nice guy, I don't even like lookin' at the other name anymore.

Greg,do they make that in digital with volts/RPM?

Thanks Rolf

ROLF,

I think they do make a digital unit, but I'm waiting for the new Livorsi full catalog. Like Raceman says, Mike Livorsi is a fantasic person, and I'll be changing my stuff over to Livorsi-branded units.

Lance, it's a standard-size gauge, so the installation would always be clean. I don't have retail price information yet, but I'll have it for my article.

I have one of there Memory Tach Recall's hooked up to my Merc tach. I'll never be without one again. Who can look at a tach at 100 + mph?

Like Wayne said, who looks at the speedo's at that speed...the recall is great. I do glimpse at the tack though.

Probably from when I would need it to calc the speed before GPS was the rage.

Speaking of which, how low is everyone's pitot below the bottom??

We have been using them for over two years with no problems. They come in 80, 100, 120, 140, 160.

Here is a shot of a new Venom dash with Livorsi gauges, including 10K tach and 120 GPS.

Jay, we cut down the harness on all installs and have no problem. You must have a bad connection somewhere.

Not sure how these gaues go together but wonder if they can be upgraded to the new name or even a style change while retaining the gauge itself?

My STV came with the monster series GPS speedo with recall but no gps receiver. Can I use a handheld unit/is there a harness available? Or is the Livorsi unit the only one that will work. Or will the units from my combines yield monitor and guidance controls work?
Thanks

nelsoncat The GPSs use a communication standard called NEMA. This should mean any receiver will work. The hand held needs to have an output which it probably has. Also there are many receivers on the market.
Since a common language is used anyone good with that kind of thing could build their own speedometer that displays what ever they want it to.Whatever size or shape.

BTW the handhelds should have a connection on the back which will power it instead of batteries. 2 connectors available. Power only and power and output. Or is it ouput only:confused:

Lance, I don't have complete retail pricing information yet, but my particular unit is a complete unit - meaning, it has the gauge, receiver, and telltale switch. No need to plug it into an outboard GPS.

You can also get them in digital. It reads tenths even over 100mph. I sell either one with the reciever for $450.
