Where has all the Penzoil gone? I used to be able to get it at Walmart by the gal. but all they sell now is pint size bottles. Has anyone tried the Synthetic-Blend?, How about Castrol Synthetic?

You have to call the walmart home office (like I did) if your walmart won't carry it. You can get it at West marine but its $5 more than wally world. I have never heard of castrol making a synthetic 2 cycle tcw3. Do they? The synthetic blend is actually good stuff as fishing motor lubes go, but if you run high rpm, I'd spend the extra $10 per gallon and get the good stuff.
Castrol makes a 100% synthetic 2-cycle tcw3 oil and Walyworld is selling it. Has anyone used it yet?

I may have to try that stuff. Is it in the sporting goods dept with the boating supplies, or in the auto dept where they used to put the marine o/b oil?
If you decide to go with Pennzoil 100% and need to contact home office, heres the info....

I havent seen the Castrol 100% yet in Wally World , I'll look this weekend. How much is it in the stores in your area ?
If Castrol is making it I would try it , I run their oil in my sled and nothing else and my sled runs around 8000 to 9000 rpm all the time. This winter as usuall it took the 7 1/2 mi. river run at WOT a number of times without a hitch and has 7500 mi. on it now too. I think castrol has their chit together when it comes to two stroke oils. Just my 02.
Its running the same price as penzoil. I've only seen it in the pint size bottles also though.

I have been running the Penzoil synthetic blend for 3 years in my 225 optimax and it has worked well for me.

I have only run Penn. synth. in my O/B too but Wally World stopped carrying it last year. I learned in the posts here on this subject that Wally World will continue to get it but we may have to request it for them to do so. The Penn. Synth. is the way to go for sure... if you can get it.

CNT,
I see u are from the big city of WETU. I was in the Montgomery wally World this week on the Atlanta highway and they had plenty of the synthetic on the shelf. $19 something a gallon.

Castrol has sold a 100% synthetic TCW-3 for many years. It was the recommended oil for the Yamaha Pro-V 2.6. The have also, for many years, sold a highly biodegradable synthetic over here called Castrol Biolube. It may or may not be the same products.
Anyway, the Biolube has a good reputation among offshore racers over here, but I know at least one guy who thought Klotz was so much better that he imported it himself from the US.
Bottom line: Try to get hold of the Pennzoil 100% synthetic. I have a link on my links page (see below) to a place called oilstore.com or something. They have a good price in case you cannot get it from Wal-Mart.
I've got to make a trip to Montgomery anyway so I'll stop in and pick up some.
Thanks Again

the part number to have your local WALLYWORLD order it is referenced.
I think I will talk to my local boating buddies and see if we need to order a couple of cases together and see if we can get a volume discount...
