Help !!!!!!!!!!!!! I found 5 lower units at a small shop while visiting in Fla and they all have nose cone kits they seem like there in fair to good condition and are for Mercs. They looked at first glance that a good cleaning and some paint would go a long way at cleaning these units up. No visual cracks or damage . I can buy them for $200 each they are only the case and 2 are factory merc units others are bobs w/lwp is it worth it I need one and want to spread the deal if it's one !!! I'm only here till monday so Quick help would be great :D

I 'll sing like a high rev 'n two stroke on location and phone #s as soon as I pick up mine

:(
This is all I know about these units if there is any intrest I can paw them some more but that isn't my style to waste this mans time on a no sale and pics are not an option Sorry :(

Thanx Jeff

200 dollars is a good price even if the units are empty.

Bob's makes a good cone.

What is your question?

sounds like some are CLE and some are stock with bobs cones

empty housings

check the inner starboard side where the carrier is and look for wear-bad ifit's worn from the carrier walking

check the groove the carrier key goes in and be sure the groove is good and the carrier/key hasnt spun

check to be sure no welding has been done on the skegs

cant think of anything else at the moment

200 bucks for an empty low water pickup housing is GOOD

see ya in st. pete tommorrow noonish

Somebody had some brand new housings at Jasper several years ago for $200 each. I'm not sayin' they're not a deal if you need em, but if there are any surprises in any of em, it might sour the price on the remaining ones if you buy the whole bunch. I'd want to know why somebody's got em all laying around if they're in good shape. If they've had any welding on the skegs they're worth whatever scrap metal is bringin' unless you find somebody with a slow boat that needs a housing.

If it were me, I'd look at em carefully, buy what I need for my own use, and leave the rest.

Kool Dude I'll bring the boat down as soon as I can We'll put the mounts in then add the new power head !! That will make it easyer to take it apart and get it painted before adding the new steering ,jackplate and lower unit don't forget the new props :D

You need to make sure what you have to go into will work. Remember the pre load gearcases and the non-pre load I don't think are interchangable so make sure it will work before you buy it.

The Preload will not have the threaded portion under the water pump to hold things in and they will have a pin on the top of the driveshaft. Don't waste your money if they are preload.
