Ive got an older (1985) 18ft Challenger tunnel hull bassboat with a 235hp OMC. Top speed is a little over 70mph per the GPS.

I think it can do better, but don't know how to get there. Present setup includes a 5" setback jackplate, 26 three blade predator prop and a low water pick up. The boat goes fastest when trimmed all the way up, which seems really bow high. Hole shot and handling are fine. RPMs are 6000+ with no rooster tail.

It does'nt trim up well with a full load even though Ive out all the weight possible to the back. Would more setback help? Maybe a prop that lifts the stern more? Anyway, whos got some timely tips?, Thanks....

Hey rla!
I have a 235 omc on a 16' tunnel and the best I can do with 26p is 75 mph @ 6500 . I get high 80's with a 30 mazco chopper,the boat is about 450 lbs. the 26 is a omc raker
