I ordered a pair of seat sliders from Progression (they advertise on this board and built Greg's Interior). I had a particular purpose in mind (wanting to be able to adjust seat in my HST and remove them without unscrewing device from the floor.
They worked with me over several weeks. Answered hundreds of questions about my particular application and then modified their product to suit my needs. I received the seat sliders yesterday and they are first rate and it was a pleasure dealing with Progression.
If you are thinking of adding seat sliders or seats (just look at Greg's - of course Greg's have probably never seen the business side of a rump) Progression is a class act.

It sure is a good thing when people do business with our sponsors (even on the small stuff). I hope everybody here gives em first shot when they're lookin' for something.

I'm very interested in these if you have more info. I also talked with progression via email, though not as much as you.
Have you installed yet? How much height is added? Do they feel secure? Why did they have to be modified...looking at all there selections I thought they would have a stock unit that would work?
And the big Q: How much???
post pics if ya got them. I have seen their pics already. Any other info you have is appreciated.
Thanks, Smack

MirageSmack,
The pieces look very good. They have pictures of the units and the one they changed for me (it wasn't a big change but I had them do it anyway).
I don't know on the weight but they are aluminum so it isn't much additional weight. The type I selected has interlocking teeth so they look as though they are going to be very secure. I haven't installed them since the boat is in storage. I believe they were $60 per slide but the price is on their website.
I have an HST and currently my seats are screwed into the seat pad (piece of plywood glassed to the floor). I had two goals I wanted in a seat mounting system.
1) I wanted to be able to remove my seats without detaching the mounting system (in essence I didn't want to remove the screws holding it in as the wood eventually gets used up).
2) I wanted the seat to be adjustable making it easier for my wife and perhaps someday my stepson  to drive.
The problem with the first seat slide they showed was that it required a set screw which screwed into the side of the seat slide to hold the seat in place. This caused two issues since my seats have to be low profile there would be no room to turn handle on set screw and secondly the set screw as you might imagine was on the side. My seats literally touch each other and the sides of the boat as (no room at all to access anything on the side of the seat).
The second slide which was better since it used teeth to lock a seat in position (yet be adjustable) and was operated by a handle that is accessible from the front of the seat (similar to what you have in an automobile). The problem was that the design used a bolt on either side of the slide to prevent forward and backward movement beyond end of the bracket and I wanted to be able to slide the seat off the bracket to remove them. Since the bolt would not be accessible with the seat installed there would be no way to remove the bolt to allow removal of the seat. To retrofit the slide to my specifications they removed the front bolt and added a cotter pin (don't know if that is the correct term) which can be removed. With the cotter pin removed and the teeth disengaged I can slide the seat backwards until the top part of the slide clears the bottom part of the slide and wella your seat is out.
Click on their website and you can see pictures of the slide they changed for my specs. I could have done the modification myself and you may want to as it is cheaper to do so but at the time I said just do it so it is correctly (never having seen the slide I didn't want to experiment). :D

A couple other reasons for removal. Take them out and store them inside during winter. Or to dry them.
Reverse the passengers for skiing.
Take them both out for an open floor for working under the dash or for more room or to clean the floor.
Swap them for more even wear.

That info helps a lot. You have the same situation as I do. Seats touch each other and the sides of the boat. I have a Mirage Ski Racer. Do you have the fiberglass seats with the snap on interior? I do, and they are kinda flimsy so I was wondering if this setup will work.
I am short, and my friends are tall. My hotfoot is adjustable, but not enough. I like your idea about taking the seat out altogether, I didn't think of that!
That price isn't that bad either. I'll check out the site again for those pics. Thanks again, Smack

My seats are wood and heavy. Gonna weigh them this spring and see what they weigh. My guess is about fourty pounds a piece...ouch. :D
I am thinking of saving up for some of the Progression low profile seats. I read the description and they sound like they are built to take a beating and only weigh 22 pounds a piece. I figure that's a net savings of 18 pounds between my two front seats....guess I won't have to go on the diet after all. ;)

We are always thinking of ways to lose pounds on our boats, and one of the most obvious is lookin at us in the mirror every day!
I could stand to lose 30 - 40 lbs., but I continue to stare at my boat wondering where the excess weight is!!
I think I need a reality check.

Go foam or mold them from glass or something. My old plywood seats weighed 22 lbs. These new ones should be maybe less than 10. Only a few lbs now without the mounts.
