I was told if I drilled 5 1/2holes on each from the inside of my mid-section above the cav plate I would get more exhaust out faster. Would this work or just make a lot of noise. It's 200 2.5 on a bass boat.
Thanks

For your average heavy boat/bass rig, this will not do much for performance. It is a lot like the kids in the import cars with the "coffee can" exhausts - lots of noise, and not much else.
Just my .02, but I hope it helps,

My freinds all like mine because they can hear me coming from a long way off.
I like it because it gives my boat a crisp powerful sound. I tell myself that it gets out of the hole faster.

supposedly it does help whole shot, but not letting the prop cavitate in as much exaust as it would normaly. but if your running a through hub prop that won't matter. as for power gains, just more noise. but it sounds so awesome!!!

Thanks A lot guys;-) think I'm gonna give it a try they do sound good. Already have to power head off for rebuilding so I think I.m gonna drill it from the inside. Great post and pics on opening the exhaust Talon.
Thanks again all

Did you ever do a posting on dry stacking??

I saw the dry stacking arcticle in the main area. JSRE does a great job. I know that I cannot weld like that. I still would like to see a thread on if and how I, as a driveway mech. could do it.
If I don't stretch myself, then I don't learn.

Any time you do any drilling on a mid section you should get in the habit of checking it very carefully for cracks before you run it each time. Gearcases and props are hard for divers to find, not to mention the bad things that happen to the boat when they come off.
