i found a mixture meter that runs a 5 wire bosch o2 and can record 44 minutes of run time.will the 2 stroke oil kill the o2 sensor?i run penz full synth at 40/1.the data logging will allow me to drive and check later.best to watch where you are going at 100+.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Suzuki use 6 o2 sensors. I expect they will become contaminated over time. I know in automotive useage, silcone spray or sealer and antifreeze will kill them. Some of the new o2 sensor heater circiuts draw upwards of 15 amps. Good Luck!

Randy, we were once in contact with a maker of automotive O2 sensors. When asked how long they would last in a 2-stroke outboard, his answer was "A couple of minutes". You can clean them with a torch and re-use them a few times though.

Yamaha uses O2 sensors with the OX66 fuel injection system and they evidently work. A Yamaha junk yard can sell you some, but last time I asked they were really expensive.

Yamahas O2 sensors have heaters but they dont draw that much amperage..They are mounted on the side of #1 cylinder and there is a hole that goes into the cylinder for the sensor to read from.. They do not like alot of oil or idling for long periods and also need good voltage.. I wouldnt trust a used one and they are expensive, like 250ish!!!
