I am now counting 4 Formula E/Super E runabouts planning on running at the East Coast mod races this year:

Myself

Davey Jones

Shawn Weber

Dave S

These boats use motors up to 62ci (OMC 44 ci twin, 49ci triple, Merc 44ci 4, 60ci 4, 62ci 4, 60ci 6) and hit speeds in the upper 80 mph range.

These boats can also run in the mod 2man runabout class and 1100cc alcohol runabout class, but in those you have to carry a passenger!

The gentleman in the cowboy hat is Pete DeLactner who raced OPC back in the `60's and built the "Mustang" sports-racing boats. Pete and his son may start building new boats in 2005. One of Pete's best finishes in a Mustang was in the 67 Havasu race. After 9 hours of racing he was on the same lap with the single outboard winner Dieter Schulze and took second place in singles. Not bad for a cowboy from Texas!

That thing is missing the rest of what it takes to be called a boat.:D Looks like the bow is 6 inchs off the water. Will it float a 6 cyl Merc??

Dave, the bow is at least 6.1" off the water. You need to get your eyes checked.

I'm not worried about how high she floats the front....
I'm putting the motor on the back:D

I can see where they saved money in making that boat. They used the same blueprints for the top and bottom.;)

No, the top and bottom are real different ... well at least at the back. Maybe this is where they saved the $$$$$$$$$

are the best out their right now, except for maybe a Krier........they may look strange, but haul the mail and turn like you would not believe..............just do not lean to the inside while turning or you are going to tossed!!!
