1.312 venturi carbs

I recently purchased some 2.5 mm carbs off E-Bay that were advertised as mid 90s 200 carbs. They say WMH 1 and 1A on them which corresponds with XR4 carbs with totally different jets according to my service manual. They have the 1.312 venturis that I was looking to replace my 1.00 venturis (1992 XR6) with. The jetting that was in them is not listed in my manual. They have .068 top carb and .066 on the rest for mains and all of them have .072 vent jets which is much leaner vent jets than anything my manual shows. I contacted the seller to see if possibly these came from an offshore 200 or even a carb promax 200. I have a bridgeport ex haust tuner and cross drilled intake. Heads and ports are stock. Can anyone tell me out of curiosity what the carbs I bought are from as the seller wasn,t sure. I was planning on .066 mains for 1&2 cyl and .064 for 3,4 5,6 with .086 vent jets. --- mike

Mercury had so many combination of mains, idle and vent jets I think it's a waist of time trying to figure out what engine it came out of and frankly it doesn't matter.

My suggestion is to try and get a hold of one of our members named "Trex", he has probably played with carb settings more than anyone else and can get you real close to what you need right off the bat.

One more thing...many folks have difficulty tuning drilled intakes because at idle and midrange the air flow is kinda slow making metering much more difficult.
