another exaust plate ?

just got my one piece exaust plate for my 1989 2.4-question 1,do i use stock 89 2.4 gaskets or something from a different motor?the ones i have now don't seem to line up quite right.question 2,how much material can i remove from the 2 back corners of the exaust ports without weakening the plate?the area by the 2 back stud holes.question 3,this plate is off of a saltwater motor and has some corrosion on the water side of the plate.can i have my machinist shave 5-10 thousands off this thing to clean up the gasket surfaces without screwing it up?any and all opinions welcomed.thanks.

If the exhaust plate has the larger exhaust holes in it use gasket 823142, if it has the smaller exhaust holes use 78069. Both of these are heave duty race gaskets much better than the stock 200. Yes the plate can be surfaced a little. You can also shave those humps in the back of the exhaust port down a little but don’t just make them disappear or it will be too weak or you will go through.
