Rumble On The River 0/4 Update

Have not said much on rumble 4 because was not sure If there was going to be funding from carrollton tourism to help pay for all It takes to put It on, went to a meeting friday and presented a budget to them and to my suprise they gave us the same amount as last year[ money is tight in our little town right now] so here we go, as most or probably all of you know gary says he is going to set this year's rumble out, He started It and had a ball doing It but If you were at rumble 3 you saw how big it has gotten, it is quite simply a hugh amount of work. I got involved in helping Gary with Rumble 2 and we brought it to my hometown of Carrollton. I got even more involved in helping Gary pull off Rumble 3 last year & it seem to be the best yet! (other than water conditions). We was going to let it die, but I approached Gary and said that , "I would like to do one more year on somewhat of a smaller scale." Gary gave me his blessing and said that if he was still in the State of Ohio that he would help but would not be as nearly as involved as in years past. Now when to have it?, do not want to have it on the same weekend as other boating events. KDBA, & ODBA, have not posted their 2004 schedule. There is a DSRA race August 14th , 15th. So the low down is there will be a RUMBLE IV, we just need to pick a weekend that does not conflict with ODBA / KDBA or DSRA events. Probably will be the 1st or 2nd weekend of August depending on when all of the other schedules are confirmed. Any questions - please contact Tony Wilson @ 502-732-4824 or e-mail : [email protected].

Hey Tony, glad to hear the news. Let me know what I can do to help out. I think if duties are spread between more people it will make it easier. Maybe even a pre- rumble meeting to spread some of the tasks involved out? (just a thought) Anyway I will help out in any way I can. BAJA 18 - As the Rumble gets closer a meeting is a good idea & yes we will spread out the job tasks. Also we gave 1,000 to Carrollton Shop with a Cop in Rumble III and we will donate most if not all the proceeds to Shop with a Cop again if everyone agrees.

I'm relieved to hear that you wish to continue the Rumble on the River.

As I mentioned to Gary last week, I know there is a ton of efforts that go into this event. To this point, my father, brother, and myself have talked about what if there is no Rumble 2004. As of now, Tony, I extend to yu my commitment of my time, labor, ideas and efforts to continue Rumble 2004. All you have to do is say so. The pontoon boat is also available if needed again. This is great that this is going to happen. I hope that you all might make it to the RBR04 this year . It is grreat that each event has its own flavor. I wish situation were such that the racing was easier to do here in Fla .

Rus your right, the water patrol In fla has a lot to be desired' they dont seem to like our kind of boats very well. At the last 2 rumbles in Carrollton we have had GREAT cooperation from coast guard/ ky water patrol and the indiana water patrol.Hell last year the ky water patrol had a little race of there own, at the end of the day on sunday two of them approached the start boat and were flaged off to race the 900 feet we had marked of, some one got a great shot of It and posted here on S and F, how cool Is that. PS plan on coming to your event this year.

That race between the patrol boats was halarious. They were pretty much the same boats but one was way ahead of the other..bimini top and all.

Great news about the Rumble. I had an awesome time last year. The race between the cops was great. I got to flag that race they were talking **** with each other for a little bit before it started. Couldn't have found a cooler group of cops to keep things safe.

Our buddy Greg Davis (post's here as "Law Dog" :eek: ;) :p ), the local constable is "The ****"!!
He/they know and appreciatte what every body did to put on the Rumble and also to get to the Rumble.
How about the local land cops too??
I think it was H20Nut that threw a water pump/alternator belt an exit before the Carrollton exit and one of the officers (Tim??) picked him up and gave him a ride to the parts store and then back to his car!!!
Try that in big city USA!!
There is no better place on the planet for the Rumble!
Hell, the Rumble is Carrollton Kentucky!!

a 24 huh, ok, you're on! :) One of my favorite moments at Rumble 03 was meeting Wing Nut and his family. He and his dad showed my bro and I everything they'd done to his boat, and I was VERY impressed at how much hands on experience and how energetic a young guy like him was to be doing this kind of stuff. You wouldn't believe the number of people who ask me "who's little Vixen is that?" when I show pics from Rumble 03. Gary and I are just BSing eachother. He knows I might have one of those bottle thingys int he back of da boat ;)

I have spent considerable time in the garage and nearly finnished with my 2 year project. When I can get the boat to go in the water and not on top of it (terrible seeing all that ice) I have a few more things to work on. I will be amongst the OMC team though and not playing and games. I have a big foot for someones ass this year:D

sarg is home now and we are just starting to build up his Allison. Yes great chance of us being at the rumble! Very great chance!
She is going to run a Flow4 in mild form until we figure out what she can do. By rumble time we may have a good ideal of whats going on because we have a couple differnt V4s being built this year. If all works out we Could even be building a ODBA sport racer with my new Looper4 and nicks feather weight Allison SST....
