The things with the hitch ball on them you use to wheel your trailer around on flat ground won't work for us.

A friend has a storage garage but its almost impossible to get the boat in or out because of limited clearance.

I suggested getting a old garden tractor with a hitch.

Our pilot friend told us about these powered gizmos for wheeling planes around.

The brute force models ain't gonna do the trick.

I figured I'd ask here first in hopes one of you might be able to point me in the right direction.

they had some posts on this a while back and it seemed like a-lot of people have lawn tractors(some are custom jobbies) you might try a search on this?!:D

...they are kinda pricey. Lots of old garden tractors will work for that. Some folks even rig them up with tilt and trim motors and a hydraulic arm to power up the ball/hitch.

One of my friends bolted an electric winch that he got at Harbor tools for about 100 bucks to the floor at the back of his storage shed and with a long cord on the control, he guides his boat in using the regular two wheeled handled thing. It works for him,

Mount a trailer ball to the front of your truck. The front steer will give you a lot more control. PLus you can actually see what you're doing. ;)
