Has anyone filled in the outer two holes on a Bob's nose cone, if so was there any improvement. Also should the remaining three holes be drilled out for more water flow.
SPK,
I cannot answer the first question. As for the second question I will offer this caution..................The water inlet holes on many of these cones are "radiused" to ensure adequate water is picked up and secondly to ensure the nosecone/gearcase contour remains streamlined to the maximum extent that the design will allow. Any interruption in the contour of the case can induce non-laminar water flow around the case which can cause lower "blowout" speed, cavitation, and the expected prop slippage. Just be careful how you drill those holes.
