looking to run single carb class for drags, what selection of boat and motor is the best for this without breaking the bank?

Texas Tunnel with a chevy.Or stick with what progresion says.

TX-19 Gullwing is by far the fastest vee. They don't need a lot of horsepower to go fast. If you want a tunnel, then I would go with a 18' Lightning design. The original design was by Condor, but they have been splashed by everyone. A 19' Eliminator Daytona is also a good choice. If you are just gonna race then I would buy the lightest layup you can find. Ron

I've got a 19' Mantra blueprinted berkley,fresh 468 chev blueptinted new Edelbrock alum heads on stand if you are interested.I am waiting for a Bullet roller Cam to be ground for it now. Motor has not been started yet.

Wicked Performance Boats will have Tunnels and Gullwing hulls. Most 19' Gullwing boats can achieve 100mph with about 650 - 700hp. There are the TX hulls, the CP hulls and all the splashes that came from them.
