.......and also, does anybody know what channel, or IF the Outdoor Channel is on Direct TV??? Even though there's a major cable provider here (Cox Communications) the channel is apparently so obscure they don't offer it. I guess sittin' in the motorhome and watchin' the satellite is the best shot at seeing it.
With all the crap programming the major motorsports programmers like Speed and TNN put on, seems like there could've been a venue that's widely broadcast than Outdoor Channel apparently is, and at a better time than Christmas and New Year's eve.

OLN (outdoor life network) is #608 on Direct TV and Out Network is #606!!
I'm pretty sure it was OLN covering the ODBA races last season wasn't it??
It's on 11:00 P.M. tomorrow night.
BTW Raceman, $1.99 per month and they activated it while I was on the phone.

AeroEFX Awards and Clients The Oudoor Channel SpeedZone set to debut this Wednesday night
at 11 pm E
Camarillo, California, USA, July 3, 2002 ~~ AeroEFX Production Services in association with The Outdoor Channel has announced a new motorsports racing series debuting 3rd quarter of 2002. TOC's SpeedZone will continue the tradition of powerboat competition coverage, expanding to include other forms of motorsports competition including the Xtreme International Offroad Series. In all, The Outdoor Channel's SpeedZone will produce a total of 39 original programs.
"The Outdoor Channnel's SpeedZone will continue to build upon the branded recognition that Competition Offshore developed during the last five years of coverage on Speedvision." Says Executive Producer Mike Saint-Amand, who's own background in powerboat racing and endurance challenges lead to the creation of Competition Offshore. "The demographic profile of The Outdoor Channel viewer is a perfect match for powerboat and motorsports competition from across North America"
"Already the Pacific Offshore Championship Series, Great Lakes Silver Cup Series, SCSC and the Outboard Drag Boat Association (ODBA) as has the newly created APBA Champ Boat Series, have committed to be a prime part of our program lineup" says Tanya Gulley, Production Manager of The Outdoor Channel's SpeedZone. Continues Gulley " The relationship between AeroEFX and The Outdoor Channel allows us to continue to remain in a late prime time slot of 11 pm Eastern on Wednesday nights and 1130 am Eastern Friday mornings".
With an emphasis on dynamic camera angles and behind the scene information not found in other programs, The Outdoor Channel's SpeedZone series will certainly give the viewer plenty to choose from. Returning for his fourth year of broadcasting, Ian Howard will be joined by a host of veteran racers and announcers. For coverage of Pacific Offshore, Great Lakes Silver Cup Series and ODBA, Howard will be joined by Executive Producer Mike Saint-Amand for the play by play and for coverage of the APBA Champ Boat Series, veteran announcer Art Eckman will be lending his talents. Ross Wallach, an experienced Formula Light tunnel racer will aid with coverage of the SCSC series.

Probably wouldn't hurt if a couple of hundred of S&F people e-mailed them to express support for the effort! ;)

I guess I'm still confused. I'm finding listings for Outdoor Life Channel, but still not Out Door Channel anywhere, and Cox says they don't offer it period.
I'm also not sure what y'all are calling SpeedZone, but if it's the same as the old Speed Vision they ain't carryin' it.
It's a damn shame that all the BS like lawnmower racing and that jet sprint stuff in canals is all over the other motorsports channels, but get something like outboard drag racing that most any lake boater can relate to and it ends up on some channel that's so obscure that we struggle to find it.
