Electrical, where do I look

Help on this one! What would cause this. All of a sudden my trim switch on the throttle handle and pro trim unit work without the key being on. The boat has just been setting in the garage and this just started. When I put this all together all parts were new. It has a mercruiser trim pump. Commander side mount control. Any ideas as to what would cause this?

Where do you tap the power from for your trim switches. It is counter intuitive but perhaps the key switch is bad and is suppling power to the (I assume purple wire) accessory lead. That's the best way to hook them up anyway. Be happy!!

Normally you shouldn't need the key on to work the trim anyway. Trace your wiring out to see what's what.
