Top guided RODs and pistons

Hey guys, just want to confirm with the gurus. I will attach a pic of my Mahle pistons showing the Thrust washer surface, and then the neat top guided Rods that were converted by quicksilver for me and look very nice buy the way.

Will the pistons work with the top guided rods???

Everthing looks right as long as the rod mataches the mercury top guided rod specs.

Give us a side shot of the pistons. From the photo you cannot see if its a short or long wrist pin style. Short factory pins measure 2.275 " as you requested the measurement. I have the washers for the pump etc. Will send an email or PM in the next little bit. Thanks:cool:

Take a look at the pistones on mt Cold Seize thread. There are lot's of pics.
2.275 is weird.
My pins are now 2.832 thru 2.8375 and they fit, or at least I thought they did?

Let me know what you think after you look at the pics.

wrist pin Mahle's . I'll get a correct pin length for you. I have a few sets sitting there like I mentioned on the phone. I also looked at the other photos.
Have you had the bores checked for roundness? Also the pistons will be out of round , but you may want to check the size on them against a new Mahle or a really good used one. The skirts will fold for one thing. They can be undersized and have too much slop in the bore also. I am headed to the PO. Call me later tonight. 815-626-6738. Take care.

So what you are saying is you sent the correct piston to Randy, Correct???

I will have John loof at the pistons for roundness. Jim Ruck checked all of the bores out.

I sent a long pin just like the ones in the photo. I'll check pin length , but the number you gave seems too short. :cool:
