I just received my merc keyswitch harness for the STV. The motor that is going on it for the short term has a big external plug outside the motor grouped with the battery cables. The keyswitch harness has a small plug that appears to go inside the cowl and has no battery cables. Is mine ancient and can I upgrade to a new motor harness that is compatible with the keyswitch harness? Help me!!!!!!!

rapair makes an adaptor to go from the early style V6 connector to the current style. You can also change the engine harness so it will fit your connector. You should be able to find a used one cheap.

Yep, its the same plug as the one on my 1400 on the Tigershark. I'm guessing they weren't this way for very long???? Any idea when they were changed? I was wondering if anyone made an adapter, now I know! I think I will change the engine harness so everything is compatable with whatever newer motor finds its way on the STV after the introductory period is up. I already have the battery cables as they came with the boat. They are OMC but should work fine. Any idea what an engine harness would cost?
Thanks

P/N 414-6220A4, your S&F discounted price is $110 + shipping. CDI harnesses are made from some of the best wire available, and are quite comparable to OEM.
