Ice has one place, drowning in a glass of liquor. Not covering a lake, not on some road, not on my sidewalk. If you want to ice skate, find a rink. :D :D
I got goosebumps just looking at those pics. How I survived two years in Maryland, I'll never know. My Florida-raised fat-arse can't deal with anything below 40 degrees. Water freezes at 32 degrees. Pounder freezes at 45. :D
Good picture of your hot rod.

I gotta story for yah.
We were up at Lake Erie partying with the locals a few weeks ago. I saw a local I knew and were shotting the BS when I told him how much we enjoyed hanging out up there in the off season with no tourist's around etc.
He asked me if I had ever "driven across the lake to the bars out on the islands".
He told me ( I knew they did it but never heard this story) that after the lake freezes that the locals find the solid areas of ice and then start driving their cars out to the islands to bar hop in the Winter!!
Told me to come up after Christams cause they take their Christamas trees and lay em out on the ice marking the "road" out to the islands so you don't:
A. get lost
or B. fall though where it's not solid!!
Also, so you guys down South know. You've ruined me!! Cold didn't used to affect me now I can't stand it!!!
Had today off planning on one last shot at testing. Spent all morning drinking hot coffe trying to convince myself that 45* was O.K.
Don't laugh. A year ago, I wouldn't have thought twice!
Folkers!

Hard to get back into old habits once you see how the "other half" lives ain't it? :D :D
Mid-70's a bit cloudy, slightly breezy. AND ITS FRIGGEN DECEMBER :D If I didn't have to work tonight, I'd be out on the boat as soon as I got home.

This weeks "fun stuff"
Last weekend my buddy hit some slush on the lake and sunk his sled. Tied it off with a rope and hoped it would freeze up a bit so you could get close enough to pull it out later. Well, it froze up alright..................

Hey Mike I've also lived in Orlando my whole life and wouldn't know how to handle not being on the water during the winter. It the best fishing season down here. Fresh or salt water.

Can't believe you guys have had enough cold to freeze your lakes already!!
I like the home made tri-pod:D
And like Skip said, if I had the weather for it, I'd have a rocket sled in my garage!!
Some of the locals have them down here but they all road trip 8 - 10 hrs up North to play!!
I had a house on the south shore of Lake Erie for a year and some of our bars had sleds parked outside in the Winter months:D

Snowing right now in Wisconsin. We have had some pretty mild winters lately without a lotta snow. If we had more snow and I had less taxes to prepare during this time of year I would probably invest in one of dem snowboats. :D

Bulletboy, about the seat, I have a trick for you about that so it doesn't turn to "rock".
Take the seat apart and take the foam to the dry-cleaners, works great !!!!!!! ;)

I'VE GOTTA MAKE IT UP THERE THIS YEAR! DID YOU END UP SELLING THE SKATER? IF YOU DO, WHAT ARE YA GETTING? LATER, DAVE
TeamSunset
12-11-2003, 11:02 AM
I still have the Skater... never had a single person look at it... I guess that I never pushed it that hard either. So I squeezed it into the garage for winter... Its still ForSale...but price will most likely go up next spring. See ya on the water! :D
