drop a drag on pro max?

will drag drop on a pro max 225 midsection? i know the tuner has to be changed but will the tuner bolt to the exhaust plate? or will i have to change the exhaust plate? thanks

Same exhaust adaptor , but the drag adaptor is milled 1" shorter , plus the tuner is cut 1" over the 260 tuner. The 225 SS tuner bolts right up to the 260 1pc thats not cut. However its a different casting with narrower bells. Sooooooooooooo......... If you are going to do this swap, you can either bolt a 260 tuner onto the plate and cut an inch off and have something close to what the drag runs( midway between drag and 260 tuner) . Or you can have the 1pc milled, retapped, and also cut an inch off the 260 tuner or use a drag tuner and grind the 1pc to match it. Got all that?????

but the two piece under a pro max cools different than the drag one piece.

The ProMax came with either a 2pc or a 1pc (as on the SS and OS models). If you have the 1 pc, which it sounds like you do, it will have better bottom end with the one you have on there (stock 225 ProMax) as there is more back pressure and being longer then the drag version . Again this is on the 1pc factory ProMax setup. If you have the 2pc then everything is way different. Leaving the 225 ProMax 1pc setup alone would help the drag powerhead if you are running it on a lake boat . Like Raceman says, its easier just to leave it unless you are looking for every last bit of topend breathing you can get. Its not going to be some revolutionary change either way. :cool:

THIS IS A FRIENDS BOAT WHICH IS IN STORAGE RIGHT NOW, SO I AM NOT SURE IF ITS A 1PC OR 2PC. ITS 97' W/20" MIDSECTION, I FOUND A DRAG TUNER AND PLATE, NOW IF ITS A 1PC HE CAN RUN IT AND LAKE RIDE AND BE FINE? NOW THE 2PC CAN HE CHANGE WITH THE DRAG PLATE AND TUNER? THANKS.....GUYS
