Anybody know what the most comon 5 lug trailer bolt circle measurement is? I am looking to put order some custom wheels for my trailer...I would just go out and measure but it is 800 miles away at the moment!
Thanks,

most 5 lug trailer wheels are 5 on 5 unless axle is under a heavy load commercial trailer. this is 15" chevy pick-up 5 lug wheel bolt pattern. it's possible if trailer or axle is real old could be something else. call your local trailer supply house and see what they say.

I've allways heard 5 on 4.5 as ShorePounder said.

My hustler and my volunteer trailers were 5 lug, 4.5. I used a wheel from a 66 mustang as a spare. I have seen 5 x 5. Do you have a drafting type compass to measure with? 99 cents at Wal-mart. :D

99% ov boat trailers are 4 1/2" bolt paternz...Utility trailers have 5 on 5...so if sumone put utility axles on hiz boat trailer, then it's 5 on 5...Ford, Dodge wheels fit tha 4 1/2"...sum Fords tha center will have to be opened up cuz tha center ov tha trailer hub iz big like a Chrysler car or truck...U kan find 13,14,& 15" wheels for a 4 1/2" lug patern...,,,Tha bigger tha rim/tire combo, tha easier it iz on tha bearings, but tha less wheel clearance U have...Tha smaller tha wheels, tha cheeper tha tire....DAMM, this iz gitt'in complicated...;) ...REX:cool:

I'd say that 99% of trailers, both utility and boat are 5 on 4 1/2". When I built my car trailer several years ago I wanted a different pattern and a trailer parts supplier only had 4 1/2" bolt circle axles in stock for his 5 lug stuff and said 4 3/4 (which I wanted to run Corvette wheels) and 5" were special order and required a lead time from the manufacturer. He had hundreds of axle sets in stock in 4, 5, 6, and 8 bolt patterns. Anyhow, the axles I bought for the car trailer were 3500 lbs each and 4 1/2". The commercial utility trailer which I bought for 4 wheelers and motorcycles has a single 3500 lb axle under it and it's 5 on 4 1/2" also.

wanna go with something custom...billet polished or chrome on it...getting sick of the plane jane. Right now I am looking at some 15" weld drag wheels with dual bolt pattern.
Thanks for the info,
JR
Here is what they are going on...

Most every boat trailer I've had is 5-4 1/2" bolt pattern like Fords
