I'm looking for a general description of the holeshot of a 28" Chopper II relative to a Trophy Plus of equal pitch.

Anyone running one interested in offering their view?

Reference my profile before you hit me over the head with the "infinite variability" stick.

Mostly, I'm curious if it's still possible to ski with that much pitch.

anything that's a 28" pitch isn't going to have a hole shot....it'll probably get up and going, but this is a top end prop....

I Really doubt that a 28" chopper is going to have enough bottom end to pull up a skier a wakeboard or kneeboard more likely. Something in the range of a 22 or 24 if the person is really light but if you want to pull multiple skiers I'd stick to something with a lot of bottom end. My 28 chopper really spun alot before hooking up Gary

Hey Hunter,
My light weight 20' Stoker W/ 28 Mazco chopper absolutely leaps on plane! I've got a stock 200 2.4 carb merc. Seems to have more to do with engine height. FYI this prop is to big for my engine, only turns about 5600 RPM. This may not be a fair comparison to yours as my boat is only about 1200# dry.

I kneedboard behind my 20ft. LaveyCraft Sebring with a 28 big eared Chopper. It works fine for this, but I doubt it would pull me up doing a deep water start on my slalom ski. I kneeboarded yesterday using a 26 Chopper (can't even tell you who made this prop...it has no numbers on it other than the 26p). My wife said it was easier to maintain my desired speed (20mph) than the 28 Chopper or the 25 Tempest. Just as the boat planes out it tends to "leap" forward and can be very tough to keep at such slow speed. I do have over 20 inches of setback and the transom jack is a "must" if you expect to use a chopper for "all around" use. Over the hub props won't ever deliver much hole shot, but in some respects that is easier on the transom and hull.
