Can you weld another bolt to it?

Basically a lazer, they work great.

threads though? I thought they were just for straight shots. Simple carbide drill and a remover maybe , if you can't weld to it?

No need to get so fancy guys. Unless it has a drill bit broken off inside it, it can be drilled out by someone who is experienced with this type of procedure. There was an involved discussion of this back in th early summer, try searching for this. Any good saltwater O/B mechanic should be good at this; a drill press or mill makes this much easier. Not a job for neophytes.........can make it worse !

As far as EDM Electronic discharge machining , what is done is you take a peice of carbon and machine it so that it is a flat blade.no wider then the tap drill size of the thread and about .040 thick. Then set carbon electrode up in the EDM machine and burndown the center of the stud. Then when that is done the to half's of the stud will fall out of the threaded hole
