how close can I mount twins

the motors are late 90s 225 3ltr mercs...
I need to know the bare minimum distance apart, on bracket...???
Center to center...Im not sure if The Stainless marine bracket I have is built for 2.4s.? they look pretty close now, I think I got
only 21.5 inches distance between tiller arms...???
Any input...???

My 24' Sonic used to have twin 2.4's and I think they were 21"
