Ok,
Have to be stealthy here, don't want to expose on the bass boards...
Figured this was the right place to start.
Has anyone possess knowledge of somewhat reasonable upgrades to a current optimax 225? Who makes a ECU, or other necessary hardware or mods we can find about 600 or so RPM?

Eric Simon is going to see what he can get out of an Optimax real soon. He just had one delivered to play with.

i have been wondering about the optimax 225 high perf motor myself. seems that a motor like that would make some of the vectors and similar boats run pretty strong. clockwork orange had one that i was looking at in sanford. seemed to idle nice, run pretty strong. from what he said, it got AWESOME gas mileage. he was happy with it. i think that somebody needs to get on the ball and start thinking about performance for these motors. pretty soon the only 2 strokes that can be bought new will be dfi type motors.

Thanks for the responses.
It is most certainly a different beast, no doubt. I know there's got to be a motor hiding behind all those hoses somewhere...
I would like to verify a few things, supposedly it's the same reed block as a EFI, that would at least be a start. What we were most curious about, can you increase the boost pressure? Wondering if it were like a supercharger...hmmm...
