What's a RS250? The guy I got the V8 OMC from had some shifter carts with a Honda 250 V twin 2 stroke road race engine in em and he said they were gettin' close to 80 HP from em.

the aprilia has 65 hp the honda rs has 85-90 hp i raced a honda 250 and the aprilia is more a street bike, they use a suzuki rg 250 motor and those bikes were made in the 80's .
i have rode the aprilia on the track and i didnt like it but i was racing a honda 250 so the lack of power and extra weight of the aprilia was very noticable

Had the Aprila out on Sunday ran good the handling is great and the brakes are even better pulled 12 grand between shifts my son loved it figured it would be a great beginners bike very safe and cheap insurance we will have fun riding very rare bikes this summer thats if he can keep up on my fully modded RG500 be good to go riding with the kid all my buddys bought Harleys so thers no fun riding with them any more. Hey Jason thanks for the picture found a good websight for the bike gonna get a set of pipes for it and play with the gearing so it hits a little harder needs to out run some of my freinds Harleys so we can get a laugh when a 250 drives by them.

And you never pull-up next to yourself at a stoplight like the majority of the Harley crowd! That gaint-killer gives you exclusivity AND cheap insurance!! ;)

You still sniffin' out that white/yellow/red/green/thing? Save me some good spots for stickers!!! If your deal works out ...my gut feeling is ...It'll be a ****-ton faster when "G" powered!

I have heard that Aprilia is now only into street bikes, a good friend of mine has an aprilia 250 trials bike. The motor has lost a piston. He is willing to let the bike go cheap ! From what I understand you can't get parts for the Aprilia trials bikes any more. Maybe someone out there would want this one for parts, considering that you cant get them any more. The bike is in great shape except for some motor internals. Lots of new parts. I'm not sure of the year or exact model, 90's ? but if anyone is interested I can get more info.

For the race track. They are OK on the street, but the power delivery of the little two stroke is not really suited to road speed limits. You can't go pass the 4 strokes for that. I, hence, bought a Honda CBR 250 RR for my wife's fist bike. Although not as fast, I still manage 2min 6sec at Phillip Island Australia. With my GSXR 600 with 120hp at the rear wheel, I manage 1min 52sec.

You bought him a great first bike. must take it to the track and have some real fun!!:D
