Guys alot of you are deffinitely mechnicly inclined and do your own work on your outboards. Well the truth is i am not that mechnicly inclined to re-ring or re-build ! I wish i was, but i think the good lord made me money sensible. I can help you with loans or refinancing your home but dont ask me to re-build your outboard! I am hearing alot of mixed opinions on my motor as far as if its worth it to re ring and what happens if i get into the block and its scared and needs re sleeving. Can you guys give me the whole senario that i am looking at to get my 1994 200 EFI XRI back to good compression and top running power ! For instance if i am gonna do a re ring i know i was told to change the bearings , what else should i do ?

if you're going to do it yourself is get a FACTORY service manual.

You really need to pull it apart and inspect everything. I might only need rings. The bearing are rarely replaced unless they show signs of failure.

Boud, you also need to check to make sure it's not out of round, and you need an inside mic for that. you can bring it to Larry D. at zuber marine. he's always on http://www.byuboyz.com/ his shop is in larose. or if you want to do it your self give him a call and ask for his recomendations on a machine shop.

I also seen your other post, you need to check comp with all your plugs out and only compression gauge in the hole. you probably already know that, just making sure.

like us1 said we rarely replace bearings and when assemblling there plenty thing's to know that the book may over exagerate on, and some things need to be taken in consideration, that will keep you out of a bond in the long run. it's easy to put them together and make'm run, just to do it right is the thing.

if your not mechanicly inclined and plan on staying in this for a while, get someone to build it for you, and learn as time goes, you can save your personal rebuild for a later date. with all the refinancing going on i know you have more money than you know what to do with. pay someone who knows how to put them together.

hope this helps.
