Gator...
Thanks for the hard work and good times. I read about it and laughed over the photos from the first two so much that I made it in 2003 as part of my family's vacation.
I hope there will be a Rumble 2004...

Been to everyone and they just kept getting better.
The people of Carrollton(hats off to them)
Getting us away from WhiteOak and letting us have their park was superb.
Hats off to all the guys behind the sceens too, Gary had a bunch of good folks helping out.
Hate to hear its not gonna happen.
Maybe Speedracer and some of those fine people in Carrollton might wanna carry on since we did bring a few dollars to their town.

Many, many awesome memories and friendships made from the first 3 Rumbles.
It takes tons and tons of work to pull off an event like that. Most people have no clue what/how much go's on behind the scenes leading up to the event let alone durring.
How about finding out a week prior that your tee shirt people spent the last 3 months doing nothing, or that your charity people are'nt even showing up and not finding that one out until two days prior??
Or that the tents that cost us almost $2K to rent were set up in the exact opposie location than they were supposed to be.
It has taken a lot out of me and I have to walk away while i still can. It has basically been my life for the last three years.
I couldn't have done it w/o a **** pile of help and support from everyone like my finace Donna who put up with the bazillion phone calls,e-mails, visitor's non stop for the last few months leading up to the Rumble, and my many road trips to Carrollton to meet with the town people that have all bent over backwards to help/support our event and of course my buddy Tony Wilson (SpeedRacer) who without his help the Rumble never would have even made it to it's current home!!
Tony suggest'd Carrollton two years ago and fortunately for me knows everybody that's anybody in Carrollton!!
Thank you Tony, you dah man!!
Some of you have suggested that he may be next in line to carry the torch.
He is.
He has known my plans of making this my last Rumble for the last year. I involved him in almost every behind the scenes requirement and chore maybe to the point of scaring the hell out of him??
It is a tuff call when you realize the event that you love so much requires so much of your time and energy that there's no way you yourself can actually participate???
Tony and I have talked many. many times about this and it is his call and I will support him in what ever he decides.
If it go's on, the ground work is already set and all he needs is a bunch of you guys to volunteer to help again next year.
If not, how could you top last years Rumble??
An air show over the river, an exhibition run by John Wrights world record holding O/B drag boat, a free tech seminar by our old friend and supporter Jay Smith, a crankin band made up of our own, or the 280 Merc raffled off by TradeWinds Marine, and best of all a field full of the most bad ass Out Boards on the planet!!!
If/when Tony decides what he wants to do, lets all remember how much work it takes and be ready and willing to do what ever he needs us to whether it be patrol boat duty or getting T.P. for the rest rooms (I swear!)
Anyhow, thanx again to everyone that helped make the last three years possible. I can't imagine not knowing all you lunatics that I do!!
That was my dream for the last three years, now my dream for the next three.
I want to bring my finace Donna to all of every one else's events! We want to sit on our asses and watch boats run all day and argue about who is faster!!
We have'nt been able to attend many (to the point of offending some people) due to our work load at home. Tuff to get in a van and spend 8 or 10 hrs on the road when you spend all year doing nothing but eating, thinking, breathing Rumble.
Now it's our turn and I hope all (most) of you understand this and will allow us the same plaesure that most of you have had.
We want to play too :p
Again, remember when Tony makes the call, he'll need all of our help so lets all pitch in when the time comes!!
Thanx again to all who have built boats/motors, planned vacations, took time off work, drove their asses off to make the last three years a succes. It was all for you guiys and would'nt have been possible w/o each and every one of you!
Gary

Usually promoting is a thankless job.

Gary did the job and still managed to remain a "good guy" in the eyes of the participants.

This says alot about his charactor. Hell of a job Gary.

Just remember Gator - now that you and Donna have all this time to spare - the guest house is at your beck and call anytime.

We would love to show ya'll what Southern Hospitality (Louisiana Style) is all about.

Take care.

I semi-reluctantly went to Rumble 3, and didn't want to leave :D :D

It's hard to believe so few people put on an event that big. Thank you to everyone involved, especially Gary and Donna for the effort put forth.

I only went to one, and as short as it was, it was one of the best times I had this year.

I'm anxious to see what happens with this. You can't look at this as the end of the Rumble, More like a turning point, a changing of the guard. It'll be cool to see how it turns out.

Thanks again for the Rumble On The River!!!

16 hours of driving renting a vehicle bring a piece of Sh$t boat and of course a might v-4. Last rumble up off a table of surgery done down in man land its not time to end and maybe it will move. Never have I met more great people in one place. Where and how can I start to thank Gary,Tony and all involved. If there is a Rumble 04 I will help in any way I can. Gary your a stand up guy. I was not able to attend any of the past rumbles, I was there through the pictures and tales everyone told. Will there be another rumble. I'll bet there will be.
Where ever it is I am going to try and be there next year. Will I help. Count on it. Fire up the grill, I can cook a mean one.
Good luck to you Gary. I look forward to meeting you.

Your hard work is certainly appreciated. It was the Highlight of my summer for sure. It was great to put faces to all the names on the guys here. This site wouldn't be the same without the Rumble in my opinion. Thanks again for everything.

Thank you Gary, Donna, Tony and everyone else involved. I think if enough of us are willing to help and take on some of the tasks involved in an '04 Rumble we can make it happen. Its just a matter of how bad we all want it. I for one will help out in any way I can and Im sure there are many, many more who feel the same, Brad.

Building memories and meeting the faces to go with the handles. Great event, great people, great times.

Thank you Gator and Mrs. (soon to be). Your efforts were and still are appreciated. Tony's continuing will make it live. He has done a fantastic job.

You have a lot of changes in front of ou both. I'm in a similar boat....and only wish I were headed to Florida too. Donna's job should be winding down about now or next week...after that....ooooooooooweeeeeeeee . . . one less restraint on time and energy...a little more on the pocketbook.....

Only well wishing from here.

Gary did an awesome job in getting the Rumble going and we can only hope that Tony can be assured of enough help to continue a really great event. If the dates work out the same as last year and I survive the winter, I will plan to go straight from the KDBA race to Carrolton Sunday night and be available to help. No words could describe the effort and pressure required for Gary to have done such a tremendous job. First Class job by a First Class individual. Not ignoring the many others who helped in one way or another. Best of luck to you in your marriage and move.
