That was Robbie M - he had a Stoker/2.5. He's a good driver too, which goes to show that one can never be too careful. I visited him at the hospital today, and it seems that he will be okay. He got bumped up quite a bit though. What matters is that he's still here with us...

I am sorry to read about any boating accident more so to see this particular one was in a boat I built, but glad to hear Rob will be ok. The pic STVHELM posted appears to be Jimmy Loyds ex MODVP race boat and it would be capable of those speeds. Big speeds are possible with a lot of the different boats available today, things happen fast at high speed and we all need to be careful. Right now lets all wish Rob a speedy recovery

Hope you have a speedy recovery. Sounds like you weren't running alone and we should all pay attention to that. Four of my close friends have either blown over or hooked and rolled and 3 are only here because someone was there to pull them out !

Don't run alone ................

Hey guys,
Rob here, and I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for thier concern about my recent accident. Although I'm not a frequent "FLYER" to the website, My recent injuries have given me plenty of time to spend in front of the computer to get aquainted with Greg's brainchild. I have known Greg through my local boating scene for a few years now. When he visited me in the hospital, we talked a little bit about the site, wich, until now, I have been only briefly familiar with. What i learned is that Greg is Far more dedicated to you readers out there then i had ever imagined. Lets hear it for Greg and his awesome site.

Big Thanks To Greg, thebone69, ghost28, stoker2001, racer, tunnelmike, modvp22, anthonyss, baja18. Thanks stvhelm for putting a face with the name, stvhelm and i had a fun game of cat of cat and mouse a couple days earlier that was cut short. I think maybe a couple of more passes and he might have had to rescue me.
That brings me to Herby. Herby is a best friend of mine that met me at the ramp four days in a row, just for me to look at the conditions and say , " nah, not today. " He is THE DIE HARD BOATER , And will go ANYTIME, ANYPLACE. Well, the morning of veterans day, After two seperate attempts at a personal best, Herb had to fish my nearly frozen, bleeding, half consious self out the drink and organize a rescue. Gee Herb, Thanks Pal.

Thanks EVERYONE. I'ts good to know that there is a bunch of guys out there who care, and don't want to see a fellow boater get hurt, (regardless of how ferocious I can be at times.) My two broken vertabrea, cracked rib, and broken ego are almost 100% healed. I'm currently looking for another boat. Maybe You guys will see me out there this summer, and you will see more of me on S.A.F.
Rob.:D

Well said........... and a point to others. Rob is one of the most knowledgeable and thoughtful young men in the boating scene....and a consumate craftsman to boot. He regularly rubs shoulders with the best Long Island has to offer, both old and new school... His years at Joey Imprescia's side have exposed him to some of the top talents and projects in high speed boating. He has also learned to listen, never brag, and deal only in facts........ important traits for all...and sometimes very difficult to accomplish in our testosterone filled world.

The point......... If it can happen to someone as well grounded, experienced and talented as Rob...... It can happen to anyone.....

Always think safety first.

Oh 1 more thing . A few days ago a decent black w/yl.or.rd. stripe 19ft sleek craft was dumped behind the stores in babylon and I think the police picked it up and its in the impound. I found the owner and it can be claimed if youre interested.

Robbie,

I'm grateful to see you're with us. Although you generally keep a low profile, we all respect you for your contributions to our community, and most of all - your friendship.

It was my greatest hope to see that you had a full recovery, and seeing you posting here is a good sign - it made my day.

Thank you for the kind words. I enjoyed our conversation that day in the hospital very much. I really gained a lot of understanding about who you are. You're a very good person Rob, and a very important part of our community.

A person I consider my friend too.

Greg
