Will this fit a Merc OptiMax?
Doesn't it need to be drilled out a little and then add some washers or something?
Talk to me.

For as this number dude, it looks like an OMC number; but the number you posted there dude comes up as a piston in my book. As far as fitting the opti, long as the same spline count is there and yours is not the new fat shaft... But if your motor is the same size of shaft as this prop for as the spline count the OMC will fit on the Merc. Just need a good fit on the thrust washer, and a couple spline washers and locking hardware should do the trick...Sorry I couldn't find this number, might give Racer a shout he might be able to cross reference this to the older prop stuff and find this for you if it was an OMC...

Funny you said that because yesterday I tried to call him and then realized it was Vet's Day and no one would be at work.
Are you sure it's not 387958? Then it'd be a 13 1/2" x 27" solid hub cleaver for V6 OMC engines.

Guys, thanks for taking time out.
Can anyone give specific's on this prop?
Yes, pn is 387959, solid hub, non'teflon coating & 13 1/2 x 27.
What will this puppy fit? Don't want to mislead someone about a purchase/horse trading.;)
The book says V-6 235. Is this still the same shaft used on the 3 cylinder - V-6's today and then?
Lots of questions I know........
Damn, Should've paid more attention in Scream and Fly 101.

15 spline
Rolf, I'm trying to do some trading with it for now. This things a 9-10 if there ever was one. Only thing is, is that I was in the process of buffing it out (by hand because I'm bored).

I have one of these 27's also, same part #. I have run it on Merc inlines and V6's but it takes a rear spacer or adapter to make it work on Merc prop shafts. These are somewhat low rake prop designs that don't give much bow lift.

Never could make these run like a Merc cleaver from Hetzel. They were probably a better tunnel boat prop at the time but needed more diameter.
