Something new is coming to Scream And Fly!

Coming in 2004 is the unveiling of a new website that will be part of Scream And Fly.
The new website will be Scream And Fly Racing – located at www.screamandflyracing.com.

Basically, Scream And Fly Racing will be our dedicated effort to support the racers in our community. The website aims to take racing promotion to a new level.

Every racer that is willing to participate, no matter of organization, will have their own profile page, including racer bio information, pictures, videos, sponsor information, race achievements, and more. I feel that the personality behind the wheel of the race boat is very important. Further, the increased exposure could help racers gain sponsorship.

The new website will also feature a racing history section, profiling past racers and events, as well as a race gallery that will become a central location for classic race photos on Scream And Fly.

I have unlimited resources to devote to this project, so I believe it could be an outboard racing website that is worthy of the integrity you have all given to Scream And Fly.

For those that are willing to be featured in the new website, please contact me at [email protected]. When we start adding the racer profile pages, I’ll contact you for the required information. Throughout the year I will be adding members, and gathering photos and videos for the profile pages.

The new website will go live in January, 2004 and it will constantly be updated with racer profiles and history information and photos.

Sounds great, what are your plans for migrating the Racing History Gallery to the new pages? Should we capture them now, for reposting? I guess this will require another login with ID and password separate from S&F Forums?? Lots of questions but probably should just "wait and see" ...
As always looking forward to the next great addition to S&F..

I have started storing some of the photos
collected from this group and from the gallery
over to the above link.. I have been adding what details and comments to the photos as I go along trying to give
some reference to each photo. Once the new website is up after the first of the year these could then be moved to the
new site. Adding more daily so any that
have more to be included just post in this
forum or in the current gallery with as much information about whats in the photos as possible... :D :D

Your ideas are great, and I'm really happy to have your support. Thank you for creating an archive for the upcoming History section of Scream And Fly Racing!

I haven't fully worked out how the Racing History section will work out. I don't want to create a situation where people have to use another login and password. I was thinking of an online gallery for display, and the current Racing History section will be linked to it for the interactivity part.

Not sure yet - I'm still working on the website, and I have a long way to go on it. Your photos are great!

Collecting the photos is not that difficult. Getting the information of what is in the photo and how it relates to the history of the sport and also how to present it on the web is
the real problem. I like the gallery you have now, but it doesn't draw the discussion like the forum threads do with the photos...
Needs someway to combine the features of both, a thumbnail photo gallery with discussions linked to the photos.... Not sure how that would work.. I will keep collecting and making notations as we go.. This almost seems like something that once
enough has been collected a Racing History CD or DVD with voice narations by some of our illustrious participants would be a way
to present this. Thought for the future maybe..

I know what you mean with regards to the Gallery and information... I am actually looking into that. You're right - accurate information is the hardest part, but I think that with the people in this forum, we're equipped to handle that.

Keep those ideas coming...
