Didn't take any pictures, because for once, I finally was behind the wheel.
All passes were in street trim, through the mufflers, naturally aspirated, no power nitrous.

First pass was a 7.50

Best pass is posted below, 7.15.
The mph is low because I let off at the timing trap. Should've stayed in it. Oh well.

Looking forward to the 1/4 mile.
My goal of hitting the 10's in a street car through the mufflers with a pump gas, non-nitrous 350 is very possible.

Chummy-
Thanks!
The car is pictured in my avatar.
1965 Nova wagon.
Mini-tubbed, stock mono-leaf springs moved inward to fit a 28X11.50 Hoosier street slick.
9" Narrowed Ford rear, 4.56 posi.
TH350, supposedly 4000 stall, but only getting around 3200 on the footbrake. (Need to send it off to get loosened up if it doesn't start slipping soon!)

The car has a custom built front end that myself and a friend did. Similar to the Chris Alston bolt-on deal. Coil-overs, tubular a-arms, Wilwood brakes, Wilwood lightweight master cylinder, etc.
That shed a ton of weight off the front.
It has a ten point cage, fiberglass 4" cowl hood, lexan rear window.
Everything else bodywise is stock.
I need to weigh the car, it used to weigh 3100 with the old front end.
I'm figuring it's around 2950-3025 now+me, (190).

Here's the only picture I have of it on my computer. The same pic as in my avatar.

Engine-
350 .060 over.
6" Eagle rods.
J/E flat top pistons.
Dart II cast iron heads. 2.05/1.60 valves. <Tons of flowbench and cutting on these.
Solid lift flat tappet, off-the-shelf Comp cam. Under .570 lift, (advertised), with 1.6 rockers. 110 lobe separation.
Demon 750 cfm mechanical secondary carb.
1.6 Roller rockers.
Hedman Husler Jet-Hot coated fenderwell headers. 1 3/4 to 3".

Shift at 6800 if I can catch it.
It comes up quick.
I had my shift lite set at 6600 and by the time I reacted, the car was shifting at 6900-7000.
That last pass I shifted before the light came on, around 6550 and I think the car changed gears at 6800. That was the fastest pass.

I can't wait for 1/4 mile. Low 11's-high 10's looks like what it's on track to run.

I'm thinking a 150-200 shot of the funny stuff and the single digits in the 1/4 may be attainable.

Rob-
Thanks!
This Thursday I was thinking about it, but it looks like it's not going to happen.
I'm shooting for Thursday the 20th up there.

My belts just expired and thankfully, Immokalee let me know. Something I forgot all about. I'd hate to tow 100 miles to Bradenton just to get rejected by tech.

I'm on www.jegs.com ordering a new set after I type this!

Let me know when you head over there.

lazermodvee, THAT et is fast as hell, were you on slicks? when i ran my iroc, my best was an 8.87 @ 88 mph on street tires. that was with the 700 r4 and 2.73 rear. maybe the old iroc had more if i would have ran some slicks?

Oh yea Lasermodvee. Nova's rule! Here's one I built in high school, 78-79. 63 ss with a bigblock, nova 12-bolt/4.88's,
M-22 trans, 9" slicks. Check out the Hooker fenderwells. I actually ran it on the street and 1/8 mile with the little 4-lug fronts. ( I've always worked my guardian angels overtime!)
Be sure to post you 1/4 times on the 21st!

The wheelie bars were stupid for sure, but hey, I was a kid! You can also see the trick Milodon pan that allowed a big block to work with the steering linkage. I now realize why I like your waggon so much. BLACK PRIMER!

sms- that is awesome!
I wish you still had it.
With Alston, Heidt's, and others mass producing a great bolt-on front end for these cars, a big block will actually fit without notching the shock towers, running a special oil pan, etc.
I have the same pan on my car, but don't need it with the new front end, (rack and pinion).

Funny thing is, you probably had four wheel drum and a single master cylinder on that car!!! Hahaha

Greg, hurry up and get back.
I plan on going to Bradenton on the 20th.
Otherwise, I may go back to Immokalee for some more 1/8 mile action.
Bring the Camaro!
