been trying to reach you over on h/t but ill post it here also.i finally got to stretch my rig out on some good water the other day(1990 stratos 266f/s w/1976 200 evinrude 6" cmc manual plate 23" shooter). end result was 62.9gps mph@ 6000 rpm. propshaft is 3 1/2" under pad and pulling 20 psi water pressure. any ideas as to where to begin with another prop? i cant afford to buy multiple props so when i buy one its gotta be close. i could swing some tuning on one in the future to make it better. im looking for a good speed prop. i know of someone who has a 26" spinnelli chopper and a 24" raker that im trying to borrow for a day. how can i plug the upper water intakes? thanks dude! mt

MTolley,
I'm not the Rowdy one but if you're getting 63 mph with an old X-Flow 200 on a Stratos F&S, not sure you really need another prop. I'm sure you will never be able to a 26" Spinnelli, plus that's totally the wrong type prop for your application. A comparable prop to what you have now would be a 22" raker. You might be able to spin the 24" raker which will probably drop your down to 5,500 or so. Your motor was rated for 5,750 rpm max so that probably won't be all bad. You will suffer with the hole shot and will probably experience more steering torque. Keep the Shooter for sking and hauling the family around. Might want to try a 23" Renegade, it has more bow lift than the shooter but may not have quite the speed of a raker.
One other thing, Rakers are great props but many have a tendency not to perform well without a little special work by a good prop person.

Well, this first say that yes I am hangin' around here more now as I have been done with HT's for a while now. When everything went down like it did there I even tried to explain things there and that post was deleted, I then tried to tell everyone that I was done there short and sweet and that was also deleted. Everything I figured that place wasn't has come full circle, go figure LOL...This will be the best place to find me that or by email. Now there is the possibility that if you don't hear from me my laptop has died also LOL...This thing went on another round of trouble this weekend and has been acting up...
First off the Shooter was a fine prop in its day but there are so many better now. It would make a wonderful spare for going to lakes your not sure where things are. Now if this was me I would get in touch with Boger and see what props he has that are ready to go for you as his will be worked and ready. Two that comes to my mind would be the 23 Gade or Trophy. I am not huge fan of the Raker. Thats just me though... Check out Boger and what he has, bet you find something there for this rig of yours. Now on plugging a couple of the holes on the GC. Yes you can but you first need to find a prop like what you wish to use and then start up with the plate till you either lose WP or bow lift... You may loose Bow lift before WP. But if you see a bounce in the WP guage as you go up a little at a time on the JP and the bow is still being carried well then try plugging a couple holes as this will allow you alittle more height on the plate...
Hope this helps. Sorry you had a hard time finding me too. I am going to hang here for a while and see what shakes out here...Let everyone know if you would PLZ... Then you guys just remember that if I don't get back with you soon here that I maybe having computor problems or I may have been chased off from here too LOL...The first one being a better bet though. Laterz
