Do any of you from Ontario know anything about Avenger boats. I was just on the Hydrostream registry and downloaded the old books. The friends we rent a cottage from on Boshkung Lake own a 20 foot one. Ive also seen them advertised in the trader. I think roy lewis (the guy who sells them), has a cottage on Boshkung. The boat looks nice but seem slow. Does anyone know if roy lewis builds them and the sleekcrafts or does he just sell them. And are they any good, just wondering cause theres lots of talk here about streams, bajas checkmates, even j craft a few times but never anything about avenger.

The reason they were slow is that they weighed a ton and didn't have a fast hull design. They kinda reminded me of a sidewinder hull they were also too heavy and had a slow bottom design.

Avengers are good lookin', expensive boats. I recall that both the outboard and inboard versions were simply too heavy. Probably a good cruisin' boat for some rich guy who doesn't mind getting beaten a lot. By the way, I recall the outboard tunnel I skied behind in the late 80's had a great wake, plenty of power, and tracked well.
