View Full Version : Using the 'Ignore' feature on these boards...

For anyone that gets fed up with a particular member of the forums, and would like to 'ignore' what that poster writes:

1) Go to any of the offending members' posts.

2) Click on the 'profile' button at the bottom of the offending members' post.

3) At the offending members' profile, bottom of the page, you'll find the 'Ignore' sentence. Clicking this will automatically add this person to your profile as an 'ignored' individual.

The offending members' posts will still be in the threads, but his/her 'words' are gone. You CAN see the offending persons' words if you want, by clicking within his/her post on a linked word provided.

Thank you Greg for providing us with a fantastic forum! JW
:D :D :D :p :D :D :D

Thanks JW, it seems unfortunate to have to use this, but the time has come. Someones posts have gone from being entertaining to being downright annoying.

Ditto on the forum Greg.

Great feature. There are times I have my young daughter next to me while on the PC and this is a good way of censoring. After awhile you recognize what to expect from someone and now she doesn't have to see it...Thanks Greg!!!:)

When there's a 'problem' on the boards, I'm just going to 'ignore' it, rather than try to help 'fix' the problem. I've seen proof time and again, that 'ignoring' a problem on a message forum is the quickest way to get rid of it. Reacting to a problem poster only fuels the fire. Take away the fuel, and the fire dies out.

Yes thanks JW.

That will teach THEM!

If anyone wants to 'un-Ignore' a member, I havent found how to do that. Possibly the 'add buddy' link right next to the Ignore link, but i haven't tried it. I dont want to accidently 'un-ignore' anyone :D

P.S., Kathy, you are NOT on my ignore list! Thanks for the info you posted below. JW

Under the "user cp" button at the top of the forum page there is an "Edit Ignore List". Several other useful features are under "Edit Options".

Such a worthy cause, assisting others to ignore.
I do agree we should all share those things we know allot about, specialized experts, if you will.

Just one question,

Is ignore the root of IGNORANT?

Barney

People have every right to ignore you if they choose. Don't take yourself so seriously. Posting inappropriate comments does not make you an intellectual. It just makes you another guy with an opinion.

09-18-2001, 11:22 PM
Last week, but now I'm ignoring you! HA

The days of Barney. Every other post was a little T&A to say the least. He was always rubbing Greg wrong. (I was under a different screen name then).

They just liked to "break em" on the puter. And "push buttons" :p
Who on here has outrun "Barney" at Parker? Or entered or even been to Parker  I have at least been out there, he has also won several times. :D
Who has ever even talked to "Hanson" one on one on the phone? I have. Very nice guy.
I have even been to Key West Worlds twice and many other offshore races.
When ************ was up and running we broke each others OO's but all in good fun. Not nasty, hate stuff.
I have partied alot in Havasu in the past years, with alot of very nice people. I even won The Campbell Regatta with my uncle in a 24' Campbell day cruiser BBC $$$ twin turbo's twin Holleys. The boat would stand on the transom if not careful!
There's a saying, "What happens in Havasu, stays in Havasu!" :D Go figure? Go there someday if ya can.
Greg gives everyone alot of slack, maybe too much at times, but I must say, he always gives fair warning!
Some of you guys have run some real serious people off this site, some have come back some have not.
Like many others, I come on here to kid around and have fun and learn things. Not to be nasty or threaten people.

Both are very decent guys in real life They just liked to "break em" on the puter. And "push buttons" :p

Oh yeah, they're spectacular people. They should be school teachers, Sunday school teachers or in some other role to influence other people.:rolleyes::rolleyes: I hope if they are ever in Indiana they will stop by and meet my wife and kids. My son is at the age of finding himself and surely a little hard core exposure to porn would introduce my girls to the real world, especially framed by Barney's unique perspective of life. Maybe the Queen could Knight them or the Pope could make them priests.

Let's review. One is a convicted drug dealer and apparently not just small time since the Feds got involved and made it a federal rap. Small timers do not go to the big house. Both relentlessly posted porn on this site even though the moderator here warned and removed many times, and wanted it family suitable here. Barney in particular's general outlook on life should appeal to almost anybody with no character. He has all the qualifications to serve in Congress. Felon, lack of morals and willing to do anything for money.

So you have met them? I guess not from the way you talk about it. Barney has paid his debt to society. What else do you want?

You just need to STFU before you make yourself look stupider than you already are doing!
