View Full Version : The Big Excuse for a 36' Skater
Dirk Pitt

In the world of sports we have heard every excuse imaginable,
the ball was fair, the ball was foul, the pitch was inside, the pitch was outsde, he cought the ball out of bounds, he cought the ball inbounds, etc., etc., etc.,
Do some of us that participate in high performace boating events take it seriosly? You bet!
The Hot Totti Run was a perfect example of serious boats with serious power, and serious money spent on them, and sad to say with serious excuses.
On that day a 32' Skater owned by Joe Rudden had what it took to be a winner, period end of disscusson.
Maybe that fella should have read that instruction book he got with the best GPS $ can buy.........................

Dirk,
Is this the same boat that has enough surround sound to fill a nite club?:D
If so, I believe he brought it to Skaterfest 2 years ago in Brick, NJ. Awesome boat!

Sharky,
That was not the boat at Skaterfest, The boat at Skaterfest was the 32' Skater I was refering to. 2 years ago it was an triple engine outboard, it was converted to twin 950 Sterlings with # 6 drives, it is one bad ass boat ( see the 155mph video link on the main page)
The 36' Skater in the post is another fine example, a truly beautiful machine "with the most expensive GPS money can buy"!
The boats name is "Color me bad" or is it "Color me excuse's" it was too far behind Team Rudens 32, to make out the name, besides the rest of us were picking potatos (inside joke) so we couldn't tell either.
Good Grief...........
They were both fast...........
Why make a Federal Case......out of a lunch run? People are actually racing...in REAL races..... and laughing at nonsense like this.

This is about insults, when someone takes it upon themselves to insult people like you and me, and all the other people that were at the Hot Tottie Run, and has the audacity to refer to them as SMALL POTATOES than Im sorry Im going to react, Im taking about boats not individuals, and why would these people that RACE laugh at this, you want funny go spend hundreds of thousands of $'s,and in some cases millions to RACE,and than get threatened by law suits by the very head of the sactioning body that you RACE for, because you may want to Race in a different venue?, now thats funny, but its all subjective, what is funny to one individual may not be funny to another...
PS
Im not yelling, Im taking very softly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there another post this picks up from? I can not figure at all what this is about. Some poker run/fun run? Skaterfest? What is the whole story? Is it a race? Confused

Just a little history:
The Hot Tottie Run was the brain child of Charlie T., he orginally decieded to have these runs in the month of Sept or Oct., due to tempertures at that time of year he thought it might be apporpriate to have some warming spirits when we arrived at our destination, and Hot Totties were the drink he suggested, thus the name Hot Tottie Run was given to this event.
Hot Tottie
3 parts apple cider to 1 part rum
1 whole clove
1 cinnamon stick
simmer on low heat till steaming hot
you can call me Dirk, His Dirkness was my uncle.

t(-)2x's,
Put your reading goggles on, its "Dirk", "Dirk Pitt", I would rather not dwell on this topic, but since you insist, there are clearly 2 versions of the drink Hot Tottie, or as you say Hot Toddy,
Maybe, and I mean, just maybe, we are both correct in our research.
I say potato, you sat patato, you say tomato, I say tamato.
But let us not forget, according to certan little girls we are all "Small Potatos", or did she mean "Small Patatos"?

This has got to be the wierdest thread ever. It started as some hard to understand statement about some Skater, then potatoes, game of Chess, to boats, cars, and girlfriends.
Dirk Pitt
11-03-2003, 04:11 PM
Just to bring this back to perspective, the thread started talking about a 36' Skater that ran 2nd @ the Hot Tottie Run, the owners other half decided that we were all small potatoes, in comparison to them, and basically not worthy of their presence, responsive to their position, I responded with a manual gesticulation( the middle finger on my right hand in the vertical position).
TC:
Okay....I'll count the girl..... That gives you 4 points
I have 10...and here's a double damn doozy trump card.
So make it 12........

A "legend" by definition is something that happens over a long period of time.........
All of your "stuff"...is two boats, one hooter's girl , and one dragster.
To make matters worse, the cat you submitted is a "pop" of a (legendary)Shadow Cat....:p
The Glastron picture was taken in Merrick Bay, L.I....... From a restaurant next door to where Ocean Outboard is now......
Sorry to do this....but pictured below is game, set, and match....and check mate.

Who???? did what? George never designed or built a 24'........
We tried steps on the Shadow 21 and discarded them after testing.........
We did put steps on all of the cats....... and maybe you recall the Conquests only had one step?...and air traps...like the Switzer Wing.....What goes around.

I also found another wire with a slice in it tucked behind one of the packs. It was for the hot horn which didn't look like it was hooked up, but mysteriously was intermittently coming on while I was hammering my way back to the inlet in 5 to 8's....
I don't think it leaned out....
Too wet. Piston not even white....except where the bore got it hot.
