I thought I had a shifter cart until I saw this one. Now I'm aware that mine is just a little child's toy.

Yesterday, I bought an F1 V8 Evinrod from a former boat racer who's now big time into Karts. This one has a twin cyl 250. The other cyl is toward the front and hidden, but has another fat chamber goin' out the other side too. He said this one is a LITTLE faster than my CR125 powered one and somehow I believe it. Supposedly my cart has HP in the upper 30's and this one is around 80 give or take. Too bad I'm too fat to fit in the seat.

Waterwings posted this beast. Kawasaki 750 (H-2?) triple two stroke. :D

I've seen pics of that 750 cart before.

I think he said some of em are runnin' 220+ now with the laydowns and the full aero body, but I could be wrong. Obviously I was more interested in the boat stuff he had. I do wish I'd taken more pics of the kart stuff.

The thing he had that I REALLY WANTED in addition to the OMC V8 was a restored cart from the 60's with a pair of West Bend two strokes on alky. The thing that made them unique at least to me was that they had 3 carbs on each engine. I wish I had pics of that too, but it had a pair of pumpers on a V manifold where the carbs usually go plus one more feeding directly into the bottom of the crankcase.

A new pipe is designed to work with the three-port exhaust for improved acceleration and throttle response. The laydown 440 engine pumps out an impressive 104 HP at 8600 rpm, up 4-5 HP from last year.

I believe the Arctic Cat 440 sno pro has both the intake and exhaust on the top of the motor so it can lay on the side. Maybe would help keep the weight balance low in your new shifter cart Raceman?
:D :D :D

BTW, great pics those twin carbs are cool.

220?? In a cart.... with 1.5 inches of ground clearance??? Why don't they just shoot you out of a cannon?? Do they have downforce?? Think of the RPM those little wheels are turning -- god, if a wheel bearing seized at 220????

I was wondering why the tires don't shred at those RPM's.

I would guess with the tires being light and small diameter the centrifugal forces would be less, yet it may not disipate as much heat. But the bearing speeds must be huge! I would guess they don't run those speeds for very far?

That must be a ride; even at 50+mph on a little cart you feel like you are going much faster.

I'm just wondering where you would be able to find a place to run one of those things 200mph -- Daytona? I know that BIR has one of the longest straights of any racetrack, but superbikes still only reach about 175-180 there.. Same with Road America.. I'm certainly not an authority on carting, but these things can't have the ability to out-accelerate an Indy car, can they??
