I can't recommend anyone in that region but if he comes further east there are a few I can recommend. What does he really wnat to do and what is he looking for? I am about 3 hours east of him and know of a few people a couple more hours east of me that will treat him fairly.

There should be a hi po dealer, which are rare and far between, in your area. Tonawanda? Any way you can find them on the mercury site and maybe they build engines.
If not I had success with ballantyne motors or something like that with my 2.4. Located in rochester and are an RV and boat place. They accepted the job while the local merc dealer-parts changer refused it. It was a stator.
Then there are a few around the finger lakes and one, forgot their name about 15 minutes west of sodus bay on RT 104. Maybe 2 hours? This last one seemed willing to do anything compared to the "mercury" dealer who totaly pissed me off.
For some reason remember Canyon marine but don't know why or where they are.
What I've learned is authorized mercury dealers are a dead end. Most marinas or places like them should have a real mechanic.
There are the builders that advertise right here too. Either build it or sell them.

Ya know, I have done a "search" for Mercury race dealers. There is someplace that give's you a list all the HP dealers!

If that was a question then yes. It's on the mercury web site somewhere. I think it's someplace in the hi po area.
Think they list the dealers too. Very few HIPPO dealers though.
