Project Red Dirt is complete. The photo was taken just prior to attaching the engine final drive and re-installing the fuel cell/water bottle on the front down tube.

When I was at UW in '84, a friend built a go-kart with a Z-1 900cc engine in the back running through a 3-piece shaft that allowed 4-wheel independant suspension. It had disk brakes and a shift lever right at your crotch which was probably not the best setup as they put little caster in it and it would change directions at a frightening rate. They'd run the thing at night on Vashon Island with a headlight on a constant loss battery. Very much a bad boy but then the guy's daily driver was a Bradley kit car with a turbocharged corvair engine in it. He blew the transmission so often that he could drop the engine and swap in a new unit faster than you could finish a cup of coffee.

45 years ago we used to mount an engine above the rear wheel, use electrical tape to fill a small pulley. Sure does bring back memories.

How about a Kawasaki 750 triple 2-stroke with 5 speed gear box?

Looks therapeutic! Must have some stonk; that's a beast of an engine.

Lots of fun, will boil the tires in second or third gear!

If your not carefull with the gas in turns, it will loop out in 3rd or 4th gear.:D
