This is in addition to thread posted earlier pertaing to 225 EFI. Wire harness that came with motor will allow motor to spin, but NO spark. Had my control box from my 200 hp motor, (all in 1 box, ign switch, shift, kill switch) My now box is control only with ignition being dash mounted.
Anyway, when jook up 200 hp box, unit will not spin starter with key, but when jump selenoid, motor starts no problem.

I have a witness ask B Leonard !

So what it comes down to is 1 harness will prove 12v to ECU, other and not to starter...And other will provide power to starter but no power to ECU for spark.

NOW THE ?

Which letter (pin) at the female end of pigtail..motor end is responsible for voltage to ECU????

Scratchin my head ?

Mike:confused:

This is what I would do;

Using your voltmeter;
1.) Find out which wires in the 200 harness go high (+12volts) when the switch is turned to "on" (not "start").

2.) Follow those wires back to the engine harness at the big connector and note which pins they connect to on the engine side.

3.) Find the wires in the new boat harness that correspond to those pins.

4.) Rewire your new dash switch to make those wires go high when turned to the "on" position.

Your motor will now run with the new harness. We already know it will crank with the new harness.

Gor wire diagram, was east to laocte problem with it in hand, Since this harness was on twins, had wired together using incorrect color. All is well, fire, turns off and goes into gear, Need to number her up and off we go.
