Here is a few photos for you F1 fans. It was a very interesting race this year with weird weather and an actual points race.

Entertainment in the vendor booths. Not sure who he is but what an awsome Gibson shown here in a pretty good version of Sweet Home Alabama! Pre race music was the best so far, live and PA.

Montoya had a huge following here, but trouble in the pits with fuel rig (15 sec), bad timing on rain tyres, & drive thru penalty assessed for punting the Ferrari ended his quest for a championship. He finished 6th, but needed 5th or better to have a mathematical chance with one race to go.

The race champ & likely greatest of all time, Michael Schumacher. The only way he cannot win the title this year is to score no points next race and Kimi R. must win it. Any other outcome in Japan clinches a 6th world driving title surpassing Fangio's record of 5 which has stood since 1957. Pretty awsome.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I met Reubins a few years ago in Canada, REALLY NICE GUY! Dude has had hard luck this year, my favorite was when he won in Germany(?) for the first time in basically the same conditions. What can you say about Schumie? Does'nt brag about this that, but backs it up all the time. wish I could go to Suzuka, all them little Japanese girls, mmmmmmmmmmm!

Someone should explain to JPM that you can't push other cars off the track unless you are in front of them. Then it is correct, or at least it is if your car is painted Marlboro orange:)

I just noticed the tyre mark on Schumi's Ferrari! Looks like he was mixing it up somewhere on the track.

Nice job on the photo essay.

I got your message, but my cell phone's battery decided to go to hell that weekend so the phone only worked when plugged in. Thanks for the tip on the radio.

How about those Porsche Supercup drivers? Do they put on one hell of a show or what??

I was sitting right down from you in section J....

Sections H, J, and NW area are by far the best seats in the house!

Schuey's tire mark came from David Coulthard. DC put the squeeze on Michael when Michael went for an inside pass off the backstretch.

That was a great race. The weather was miserable, but great races come from changing weather conditions.

Qualifying was awesome as well. Especially being a Kimi fan and my wife an Fernando Alonso fan.

All was well on Friday...then it rained and the crews scrambled to change the cars over to rain setup and do further testing before the session came to a close.

Lastly, along the Indianapolis outerbelt, (I-475), I pulled over to snap some shots of what I first thought was a 24 Skater, but upon closer examination it turned out to be an Aronow cat.
Something you don't see every day.

LaserModVee,
Great shots! I could not attend until race day, looks like I missed alot. I mailed my Thursday garage passes to my brother, hopefully we get some photos from him.
That twin cat has been sitting at that boat dealer for at least two years now, I keep checking when I drive down from working in Michigan during the week. The couple times I stopped nobody was around to talk about it.

You missed a great qualifying session, but Sunday's race is hard to top. I think just about everything that could happen throughout a race, did happen that day.

We arrived Thursday night and missed out on the garage walkabout. I really wanted to see that.

Looking forward to your brother's photos!

If memory serves me right, (doubtful), there was a thread here or on Offshoreonly about that boat pictured above. I think they said it was a Don Aronow boat from back in the day. From what I could read through the zoom lens, it looked to read, "Aronow" "Signature Edition".

Hey LaserModVee, This is an old thread, but a good place to give you an update:

I ran into a salesman at the Aronow Cat the other day.
He said, " it's got 2.5's punched to 3.0's runs 100, and we want $60,000. What else do you want to know?"
I said I have no further questions.

FYI, the interior is pretty bad, but I would like to have the 30" props off of it though!

LaserModVee

How did you keep a straight face?
It's no wonder the boat still sits there.

You take the props, I could use those lower units.

Oh well, you never know 'till you ask.

How about JPM going to McClaren? Williams never hang onto a winner.

I read that Kimi Raikkonen set a lap record of 1m16.125s at the Jerez circuit in Spain at the wheel of the 2004 car/MP4-19.

All of the experts are predicting number 7 for Schuey in 2004.

Can't wait for June!
