Could someone give me the head and rod bolt torque specs please.(big rods) 200 Merc, Thanks Lonnie:)

Lonnie torque non SPS rod bolts to 35 lbs with Red locktite and the case bolts the same all but the top 2 bearing bolts torque to 40 lbs. On the Hi Per motors just add 5 lbs to EACH torque spec and you'll be just fine !

Im changing #5 piston on the boat so I didn't split the case. the other spec I needed was the head bolts. :)

Racemo, I torque tha heads to 35#'s...even the ones that say givem an extra 1/4 turn...35# ain't let me down yet...I do my lil 2.0 with studs and over 200#'s of comp to 40# and use copper kote...REX:cool:

Rex, everybody knows you use that Loozianna torque wrench.......tighen it till it strips and back it off a quarter turn.

Head bolts with light oil applyed to threads 38 lbs.

T-Recked,I use the whatever works method most of the time,just thought I would get off track a little and go by the book.
