i have a damaged cowl i want to repair does anybody know if the glue that mercury uses to bond the cowls togather is available or possibly from 3-M

Call me. I found the plastic glue for the cowel. Same stuff Merc uses. Also your jackplate is on the way. Did that guy ever call you on it? Have a good one.

I used PC7 2-part epoxy and drywall mesh tape. Worked like a charm and stronger than original.

PC-7 is an epoxy. It's very similar in texture and character to Bondo. I've got an old T3 style cowl that was in rough shape. It was split at the seam 2/3 of the way around and the top was warped pretty bad. There's nearly as much PC7 on it now as there is plastic. :D I smoothed out the warpage as best I could be applying heat to it and then filled in the rest with PC-7.
I've been getting it at a local hardware store. Look around and see what ya find.
